Joe Cole is a greedy chav *word censored*!!!!!

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

I didn't see it personally but he's not one to chat shit...take it for what it is though.

Don't know if anyone else saw this, would have been about 7.30-7.45
perhaps there was truth in this then 8)

My objection goonanana, is that right now we have 3 far far bigger priorities than buying another small light winger......we desperately need a quality keeper, a partner for TV5 and a big physical presence in midfield. People can say what a good signing it would be to get him on a free but as DB10 points out there is no such thing as a freebie cos his signing on fee and wages will be massive instead. I mean if he was to be paid 100k per week basic then that would accumulate just under 5m a season basic and not including his signing on fee and lest we all forget that money will be taken out of our transfer kitty. It is only my opinion but unless we have a 100m transfer kitty right now then personally I couldnt justify signing joe cole cos we have far bigger needs and too many similar types of players meaning he will not be bringing anything different (apart from nationality) to the table. Of course if we were to sell theo, rosicky and either nasri or arshavin then I would see it as a good signing but as things currently stand I am totally against it
Can't see a single word that doesn't make sense here.

Didn't rule out a move.

I'd sign him for sure, he's top class, easily amongst the best 'keepers in England, if not the world.

Would in no way object to strengthening the squad but it just feels like de ja vu.

Two seasons ago, Flamini, Diarra, Gilberto, Lehmann, Hleb left. Wenger said he'd be strengthening. We brought in Nasri as the beginning of the window. 2 months later we signed Silvestre  Fine, we all said, if this isnt the end of the signings and oh yes, it was (Bishoff aside   )

Last season we lost Ade and Toure. Wenger said he'd strengthen. We bring in Vermaelen early on. Fine, if that's not it. Oh but it was until January when we resigned Sol on a free.

I'd love to believe this is the start of many but am very fearful based on recent history that it is at the expense of more serious required transfers.

Ok, it's now looking very likely that we're got another Cole (better) on our hands, regarding my first post, I think IF this is a 100 pct deal, it's got to spell the end of Roskicky...... Thoughts please...????? :? :? :? :?

Yes, he's the obvious one to be replaced. Unless we can get some money for him though, isnt this going to be a significant increase in wages?

ESPN say no deal. We've pulled out of it apparently.

Don't want to cast doubts on the veracity of nuttypaul's source but the way I read that, it's even worse!!

Paul's mate is Frank McLintock's son; and Scott's mate's mate, who holds a position high up in a Scottish Bank, is Joe Cole's agent's mate.  :? :? :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff:

1989 has just done me in, I was firm, and upright (with this Joe Cole news) NOW after his post I'm as flaccid as one of Almunia's hand when (attempting) saving a shot at our goal.... :? :?
