FAO Swedish and Danish gooners...

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

FAO Swedish and Danish gooners...

Post by Chips and Chocolate »

I'm going to lovely Scandinavia with the missus in early September (mainly Stockholm, Malmö & Copenhagen)...
Anyone from there got tips (bars, shops, other sights than the traditional tourist traps...)?
Also, I've got my train back to Brussels at 6.30pm on Saturday the 11th... Anyone know a place in Copenhagen (near the Central Station) where I can watch the Bolton game?

And, last but not least. Are these easier to find in Sweden?

Yes there are. Alas, because you're from Belgium, they're just choosing to ignore you - just like the rest of the world does your country!!

Copenhagen:

Tivoli Gardens is a bit of a tourist trap - then again, Denmark is an expensive country, so even the local pubs on the back streets could be considered tourist traps based on the price of a pint! :?

Anyway, here's one tip - despite seeing endless photo's of it, DO NOT GO AND SEE THE MERMAID! it's the biggest let down imaginable. It's a fair walk from the city centre, and it's so ridiculously tiny and unimpressive that you'll wonder why you bothered. That said, you'lll probably go and see it anyway, because that's what tourists (like you and me) do.

There's several Irish bars, and Danish sports bars, on the street outside the main entrance to the train station. You can't miss them, really. Denmark is football mad, and they watch plenty of the Premier League over there, so I'm sure you'll find it on quite easily.

It's a nice city by the way, and I remember I was there on a nice summers day and loads of girls (and old ladies  ) were topless in the parks.... it's normal over there! :barscarf:

You should go to a pub called southern cross in a street called Løngangsstræde, its a 5 minute walk from the central station, thats where danish gooners meet all arsenal games are shown, cheap beers on offer when arsenal are playing.
