As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
good one mate why not ask a darlington fan if he'd swap european football every year for what he's got now

It's an old Rosetinter trick. Justify what they say by claiming "a Villa fan" or a "Liverpool fan" are shocked by anyone questioning the genius Wenger... as if that somehow qualifies their statements as incontrovertible fact.
They also use "fuck off and support blah blah blah..." alot too. It's the last resort of someone that knows they are wrong and have lost the argument.
[quote="DB10GOONER"][quote="Henry Norris 1913"]spot on M-50. some people around here need to learn respect for our manager. just because they don't agree with every decision he is made then apparently its ok to verbally abuse him. talk about acting like spoilt kids. I spoke to a villa fan about it and he was bewildered by it. you have to appreciate the work he has done for the club.
I'm like many of you in being pissed off about our shit goalkeeping situation , and the way we practically fold in any major cup final, but chanting songs for a man that has won us 7 trophies is a great way of showing support. And yes, if you disagree I would hope you fuck off and support the y**s. I know it sounds stupid to say that but that is the kind of attitude that makes our ground the most quietest and unpassionate in the country. If you really detest arsene that much, you really are a plastic football fan.
You really are deluded aren’t you?????
The Keeper Situation has been going on for way to long. As you mentioned we CRUMBLE at any major big match. This has been the same for years now. The Manager is not doing his job to the best of his abilities anymore. This is obvious to us, the press, the world and probably players such as Cesc. The only reason he gets respect in the dressing room is half the team are shit and no they wouldn’t cut it anywhere else. Also half the team are still kids and know Wenger has blind faith in them.
If we saw Wenger fighting for us we would all have more respect for him, but he is a fucking liar. Were into the 2nd game of the season with no keeper, no proven CB, and no cover for Song! It’s been 6 years now and the reason we don’t win anything is Wenger is happy to finish 4th and is probably confident to the fact that he can still qualify for CL without spending. This is something Wenger is amazing at and does constantly. Why would he want to spend, as in his stupid mind he knows he can finish 3rd or 4th without making crucial additions the squad.
As Cesc has said “Wenger is like a father to meâ€

Respect when justified has been earned, and Wenger indeed had the respect of everyone in football, but what "some people arond here need to learn" is that respect can also be lost. And I think that you will soon "learn" that Wenger is losing a lot more respect than he is earning these days.
dont know how people can still justify backing aw's decisions
crap analogy maybe but,
if you had a front door at home with a crappy lock on it that didnt stay locked and a burgular got in thru that door and raped your whole back 4 and gk on a regular basis would you
A- replace the lock with a better one that does its job or
B- keep the same lock even tho you get done on a regular basis because you believe the broken lock has the potential to be a better lock and it will get stronger and more experianced with each raping
feel a bit after that but the point is still vaild
why wont AW just admit a weakness and fix it??? i dont want fat sam in my house again

Well, Wenger wouldn't buy a mortice lock because it would kill off the yale lock....

Brian Clough.
Elevated Nottingham Forest to some heady days. They were a small club historically, but won league titles, European Cups, FA Cups, all under the guidance of Clough.
Then the glory days stopped coming. But Clough was still manager.
And Forest started slipping down the First Division. But Clough was still manager.
The last major silverware (ignoring the League Cup) they won was in 1980 (their second successive European Cup). Clough was still in that job, until resinging 13 years later, the season Forest were relegated.

That's bollocks!! Do I have to bring up the Alex Song Fulham game example again?
Bring up what you like - breakfast, lunch, last night's keebab, whatever.
The Fulham game in question is the one that proves the rule about regular away fans being superior supporters. Fulham tickets are always the easiest to get and as you well know far more fans can and do travel to Fulham than any other venue because it is close enough for the lazy feckers who never travel north of Watford. And so the Fulham game invariably attract large numbers of part-time away fans.
Not all regular away fans are saints but the generalisation that they are better fans is a no brainer.
The Wenger slaggers btw are a bunch of brain dead morons similar to those who crucified Song. Sure he's no saint but under him we still play some brilliant football on a fairly regular basis.
The time to moan will be if we haven't purchased a keeper and central defender by transfer deadline. Until then give it a rest.

Would he really need a mortice lock, they are over priced and have been known to fail just like the cheaper yale lock. I've heard he might be going to buy an old but still operational yale lock with a possible 2 year warranty.
Hardly as good I know, as a brand new mortice lock, but needs are as needs must.

It means they maybe have more money than the rest of us - or deny their family things that maybe they shouldn't.
