Eboue warm up

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

By the way mikey I do attend games, was at the wigan game (with my then 5 yr old son who didnt know what the fcuk was happening  ) where he got booed and I didnt actually join in :o It wasnt cos I am apalled at any booing of our own players cos I firmly believe in the fans (customers  ) rights to voice their displeasure but on that day wenger fcuked him over big time

The other bolt ons are down to opinion, i guess he is like Marmite, but I have a lot of time for him, on both a football and a "team" issue. It pissed me off to see Clichy just waltz straight down the tunnel last night as soon as the final whistle went - and a few others did as well - Eboue does make an effort to recognise the fans, and in an age when people moan their "love for football wains as players dont connect with fans" i think that should be applauded, but as i say, the main thing is he is a good footballer and a good asset to the squad - in footballing terms, and a hell of a lot of people agree with that outside this forum!
This is the point I was trying to get at earlier, i think this is where the "love" for him stems from in a lot of cases. This isn't a swipe at those that can't attend games for whatever reason but watching on TV you won't see that practically every game Eboue is the last player to leave the field making sure he thanks the fans for their support. Even when subbed he is on there with his flip flops and big coat. Personally I appreciate this and wish that more would do it and as I said last night, going into the crowd and giving his top to some kid is a nice gesture. He may not be the best player and probably never will be but its stuff like this that to me show that he is a decent guy and doesnt deserve some of the harsh criticism he gets.

The guy makes me laugh. He's a good bloke, decent footballer and generally good to have around the club.

Check out this vid from the WC.

Love him or hate him - and I veer more to the latter - you've got to admit that Korean episode was hilarious and that the guy is very funny. 8)
