Ivory Coast would definitely be up there with my favourites to win the Cup, so I think in that regard we won't get too lucky...(at least as long as we don't have Toure Chel$ki won't have Drogba :D )

Will it affect us to lose Kolo and Eboue for 8 or 9 games? Of course, but will it change the outcome of the season? Only if Gallas gets an injury as well.

We have a decent fixture list for the next 10 games or so, including the period of the ACN, nothing like our December or April, so if there's a good (or less bad) time to lose key players, it's now.

Much as I love Kolo, Gallas has been the more important CB this season and with 3 alternatives to cover, the chances of doing ok are good, though doing without Gallas too would be a problem.

I agree with Smooth, the anti-Phil camp forget too easily the qualities Mr Swiss has, though I accept when he plays badly, he does it in style.

And while we've got good cover for Eboue, he'll be missed too. Yes, I know about the diving etc but when he's not playing silly buggers this season, he's done well.

So, no, I don't think we should be too worried about the ACN (whereas Chelsea should be shitting themselves). I'm much more concerned about playing the rest of the season without a top quality keeper in the squad.

Don't think it will affect us very bad, sure Kolo is a lose but with Johan urging for a place in the side while he is away it is going to be a fight for a place
Walcott can fit Eboue no problems unless Beckham wants to play in the red & white once or twice 8)
Song gone is abit of a shame as he will not now play in the Carling Cup & his recent form has shown good signs though Gilberto, Diaby or Diarra & don't foget Silly Phil will be chaseing
Hopefulley there won't be no injureis otherwise we can cope & chase on

Unf I think it will be a downer for us. We may cope without Eboue but Toure is a huge loss. Arsene said he is not signing which means we are playing probably our worst ever center half in Senderos and I mean worst then Stepenovs, etc or Djourou who has not proved much to me as a Birmingham. Lets face it other then Gallas no center half we have can touch Kolo so we are funked in that department.

Senderos worse than Stepanovs??? Are you joking??!

Last season, Gallas was fucking awful. Even with Senderos's quota of errors (esp when faced with Drogba), he was better than Gallas.

I don't think Big Phil will ever be more than a squad player for us but there's no need to exaggerate.

We need the Senderos that has broken two records, one for club and one for country, not the more erratic one that we have seen over the last year. I have confidence in him but I'm probably the only one who does

You are!

Fair play to you though for believing in him. Senderos scares the living shit out of me  :? . He really is an accident waiting to happen. Which is a shame because he is a great pro and he loves the Arsenal. I just wish he was a better player... :(

Part of the defence that shut out Real Madrid, Juve and Villerial so helping set up Jen's record of not conceding a CL goal for longest time. and the Swiss national team didn't conceded a single goal during world cup 2006, pity they were so bad going forward
