Also on the subject of Saturday's game, Wenger's team selection left a lot to be desired and once again, directly contributed to the lack lustre performance. Why leave our most in form player in Jack Wilshire on the bench?! I know the answer - he was resting him for the Champions League and Chelsea. But why does Wenger persist with his obsesive and failed policy of resting players when it consistently costs us matches and points and quite possibly trophies?! Did anybody else think that Wilshire played like he needed a rest against Spurs?! No! By all means rest a player if they look like they need it but Jack quite clearly did not.
AND he persists in playing Eboue out of position on the right wing. Firstly Eboue is a full back and his best quality, such as it is, is surely attacking the oppostion defence from deep positions whilst playing at full back and in my opinion is, at the very least, a very capable understudy for Sagna in this position. Secondly he has neither the ability, confidence nor the instincts to play on the right wing as part of an attacking three. When he receives the ball already in an advanced position he does not know what to do with it and is also probably more tightly marked, but when he receives it in deeper positions from full back he just gets his head down and runs at the defence from deep and quite effectively on occassions. An arguement could perhaps be made for playing him on the right wing in a difficult away match, when we will be up against it, but at home to West Brom, whilst both Wilshire and Rosicky were sitting on the bench?! It just leads to a lack of creativity going forward which is just what happened against West Brom. Surely we need all out attack against these type of teams at home?!
On the subject of captains, having 11 captains on the pitch as Wenger believes we do, is the same as having no captain, which is what we actually have most of the time, no leadership on the pitch, especially when Almunia is given the armband! Every successful Arsenal team has had a strong captain - Frank Mcklintok, Tony Adams and Patrick Vieira may just have been a bit more influential than Almunia was as captain on Saturday (irrespective of his mistakes)!

Knowing what a fool Wenger is he will probably make Eboue captain when Cesc leaves
