It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

Oh I know why! cos he's a fucking ***** dog bastard.
Because Jack and Nasri are in there and combine vision with a bit of workrate?

Besides, do Ireland play with a midfield?
come on ldb, that's 23 best position, and the Jack arguement is irrelevant, cos le wenger was wasting his talents when he was at bolton and nas was injured
Wasnt that the time when we needed a CF?
We need a lot of things LDB. but wasting what you have in hand is incompetence.
What i meant was that arshavin spent most of the season playing CF rather then wide left

I know, its still the managers fault but clearly he thinks he has better options in the centre of the park for the rigors of the premier league. The russian coach clearly doesn't.

Besides, he does have considerable licence to roam, its not like he's told to hug the touchline.

Arshavin didn't get injured last night. That's all that matters :barscarf: :D

What Oireland needs is a team full of Engerland rejects. Then they might actually start qualifying for some tournaments again.

Engerland's qualifying record is pretty decent. The problem usuallly starts when they reach the quarters and get vertigo.

I was at the match.

Arshavin was just Arshavin. He didn't perform any better than usual.

I also must add that Arshavin has been dire for his national side of late.

I left at 3-0, I wanted to leave at half-time but decided to give them a chance. I think that chance lasted 3-4 minutes. bye bye Ireland, best of luck for the future (you won't EVER see another cent of my money again)

I think old trapper tony has done magnificently considering the derth of talent at his disposal. He's the least of your worries.

As a man that has fcuk all interested in international football I will still defend trapattoni mate......the guy has too many absolutely shite players to work with and even jesus christ himself wouldnt be able to whip up the size of a miracle needed to make them into a good team :( look at the starting 11 last night......a captain that has seen fcuk all playing time this season, a keeper that has only played 1 beer cup game this season, a central midfielder who is only a sub at the mighty stoke (*word censored* ) and add to that 4 of the players are playing in the coca cola championship so it is hardly an abundance of riches is it ? If he had the array of talent that successive england managers have had for the last 40+ years and still done fcuk all then he would have charged to answer but being realistic this is the worst pool of Irish players since the early 80's.

The only knock I have on trap is his treatment of andy reid who may well be chubby but would provide a touch of class in a team that has fcuk all

What has already been said about Ireland just not having the talent is so true. But last night first half is gthe worst they've been for a few years now.I actually agree with PHP, Ireland need to recruit some second generation players to improve the squad. Kevin Nolan and Jamie O'Hara immediatley jump to my mind, I think these too would add so much to the team, especially the way trapp sets up the team.

As for Trapp himself, the guy is paid way way to much. He basically took a nice big semi-retirement pay package. Not only is the Andy Reid situation a joke, but the fact he rates Green ahead of Fahey and Gibson is a joke. Not only that but Stephen Kelly is a better defender than both Kilbane and St Ledger but doesnt even make the bench. He basically chose a team, when he had his first ever camp in Portugal and has stuck to it. I think is a very good manager, but paid far to much, and I feel if the FAI were to invest the sort of money they have in trapp into their own league, we may have more talent coming through the ranks.

It all boils down to talent and sadly eire dont have much at the moment

As for Arshavin, he seemed to have a freeish (is that a word  ) type of role, he started left wing, but did seem to get more involved in the center than he does for us. He wasnt great, but was effecient in the pass made a couple of darting runs which caused problems, but didnt really set the world alight. Typical him really.

The Plastics have a lot more pride playing for Ireland than some of the overrated crap that's in the current squad.

The Irish abroad are a loss to Ireland, the country is going down the pan again with the corrupt FF government bailing out the dodgy banks & speculators, same old story anyone who could change the future for the better ends up leaving whilst the elite pocket more brown envelopes :banghead: :banghead:
