A MANAGER TO GET US BACK WHERE WE BELONG

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

no i haven't, because unlike you, his posts are too big

I dont care if we play ugly footie, or only beat teams 1.0 , dont care if you sell our midgets and replace with tall players that long ball it to a star striker, dont care if you steal money from us, and i dont care if you bring scandal and shame to the club. If you sort out the defence make the board give you cash for players , make us never loose to the scum and win us the leauge you can do what the fuck you want.

George is back!

the answer is Jürgen Klinsmann.
Yeah because coyle, moyes and o'neill are so far below us lets go for klinsmann instead 8)
correct - those 3 in my opinion wouldn't be able to attract the best players - if you want mid table obscurity you'd choose them.

also I doubt very much, that those 3 could turn English football around like Klinsmann has for Germany.
Yes because this club is all about buying big name players and they all want to come because the club offers massive wages like City.

Those 3 managers have all worked well on limited funds so would be well suited here and have far more about them then a part time manager famous for star jumping in the world cup and playing up to the cameras.
we signed Bergkamp.
its not always about wages.
if not getting relegated is doing well then I suppose they have.
I don't agree with your ironic description of JK

True. But I think Dennis was from a different era. And he was a diferent type of person. Most (maybe all?) modern players are about the money first, the trophies second and the team third (if at all). You must remember we signed DB10 in 95/96... it was a different era and there wasn't as much money in the game.

Exactly, players then were not just driven by money, its always helped but back then the club had more weight, now its not like that, City are proving it.

idont think the game has gone 100% to shit i've got a sneaking suspicion that if you scratch through the veneer of all thats wrong with theses big time charlies and look at another level as gg and aw did in the beginning, you can get the right sort of dedication and loyalty ala dixon and henry. what you dont do as policy is give young spotty talent 50g a week thats where it goes to shit.

brady won it beautifully look at that oh look at that

And there is the crux of the issue!! Wenger does just that. The improved contracts he has given shit like Bendtner, Diaby, Denilson etc are crazy. They have done bothing to deserve them.

That's the biggest disease at the club, the squad is massive but not in quality, we could half it and use the wages to add two or three influential players that would make all the difference, he can't do it though because the massive squad is a big drain on the clubs funds.

It's poor management from top to bottom at the end of the day, Wenger is not alone in this, what the hell is Gazidis thinking when he's negotiating the nice terms for nothing players?

Dislike this thread for two reasons.

1. Choosing a new manager while the current one is still at the club ? ( And will hopefully remain so for a few more years yet ! ).

2. A good response to a subject that has been raised countless times over the past few months. Some originality would be nice. ( If you're one of THE ' realists ' the lack of originalty seems to get overlooked somewhat ).

Bullshit.

Mourinho's Real Madrid team have been playing stunning football all season so far, even better than Barcelona. They've the highest number of goals in La Liga as well.

Chelsea were pretty good to watch under Mourinho. Yes they didn't tippy tappy and pussy foot with the ball like we do (which I guess is what constitutes good football these days  ) but they played direct, counter attacking with Joe Cole and Robben on the wings and Lampard pushing up from midfield.

Always thought they looked pretty good with that formation and could never understand why Moaninho got rid of Robben

The thing about Chelsea under Mourinho is that they could mix it up if they had to. They could play expansive passing football or they could play counter attacking physical defensive football. We currently have no defence what so ever.

And to be used as a future reference by the AKB, instead of the usual "who would replace him" shite that they usually come up with.

Hiddink
Rijkaard
Van Gaal
Mourinho (probably missed the boat here, but you never know)
Koemann (with DB as assistant)
Moyes
O' Neill (simply to restore passion and committment)
Coyle (a gamble but could do worse)
You may not agree with them all and I'm sure some won't agree with any
what about joachim lowe

But he picks his nose... and eats it... :| :| :redcard2:

Great coach though, I love his faith in (talented) youth.
