A MANAGER TO GET US BACK WHERE WE BELONG

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Can everyone who wants him in charge grow up a little bit - this isn't Championship Manager.

Dalglish looked great at "his" club on the back of Paisley and Fagin....but who wouldn't, just as Guardiola inherited a fantastic team and some great youth players.

Just as with Queen Kenny - take him out of that home club comfort zone and what's the chance of success. About the same as Phil Scolari I would say

Did Pep buy or produce any of Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets or Messi ? Lets see how he can 'develop' Eboue, Denilson, Song and Vela. And what would happen if he asked for £30m to invest, Mr Hill Wood......

He didn’t buy or produce them but he took a team that had a lot of talent but had become a bit stagnant & in some cases lazy, arrogant etc & he turned them into the team they should have been. And by all accounts he did that by reintroducing a lot of the basics & discipline that had gone missing. Supposedly he fined half the team for being a minute late to training the day after winning the Copa del Ray. He convinced Messi that he needed to be as good without the ball as he was with it. Got the whole team playing a high-pressure pressing game so that they win the ball higher up the pitch. Taught his defensive midfielders to be disciplined positionally, reintroduced things like analysing opposition before games, working on defending & set-plays etc. Granted a lot of this is basic stuff that any half-decent manager should be doing but it’s also largely what we seem to be in desperate need of.

I’m not suggesting there aren’t still question marks over him (same as just about any candidate), or that he’s definitely the answer but I cant understand why Guardiola would be such a ridiculous suggestion. Assuming he'd almost definitely struggle away from Barcelona doesn't seem much different from saying Moyes would almost definitely struggle at a top club. Until they get the chance who knows?

Cant believe everything you read obviously but this article suggests he at least has a lot of the attributes we're crying out for...

However if he were to come on one of his cuntin press conferences and say something like “yes I have got a few things wrong, I realise we need some maturity in the team. Come January I guarantee you all I will sign a quality CB, GK, DM and a striker as I know understand that we as a team will never get a full or even a half season out of RVP.
If this ever happened or even half happened I wouldn’t want any other Manager to take over. The simple fact is due Wengers ego he has alienated himself from many of us fans and turned into a joke. If he had stopped being such a tight fisted French wanker then we would have signed a keeper and 2 quality CB’s rather than the pile of shite he bought in the summer.

We would be flying on top of the league while the chavs have been playing shit. We would have a blanket of points that even the form of manure wouldn’t be able to chase that easy.

We wouldn’t of lost to Newcastle, WBA, Scum , maybe beaten Sunderland , Liverpool and even the chavs.

Fact is Wenger wont change, January we will be lucky to sign 1 player never mind 4 and he will probably sign another 5.6 midfielder kid as they take up less room in his hot tub!

Don’t care we beat Villa we nearly did it all again and threw it away, how they fuck can we have a 1 goal lead and then have 5 players in there box at the end of the match! Madness!

Oh mikey mikey time to wake up and eat your cornflakes
