If anyone is into their beer then there is a great pub near to the coach station:

Its won loads of awards and isn't up its own arse i.e. a real ale pub where they are not afraid to show footie on a big screen. They also stock a great selection of lagers and ciders from around the world!!
Not sure what its like when Brum are playing at home - although hope to find out if I get lucky with tickets when they reach Booking Period 4 next week!

If you want to go by train then Chiltern have a £30 day return from marylebone. Its cheaper than Virgin rip off but takes a bit longer (just over 2 hours).

As some of you may know from a previous thread I am a bit of a transport anorak (aka sad git). Just been doing a bit of research and Chiltern have a new service which allows you to get tickets on your mobile

I've looked at what's availble and you can get tickets for £13 return.
main drawback is that the first train back after the game is 1910. All right if you want to spend the afternoon in a pub.
BTW and v important Chiltern does not go into New Street the main B'ham station but Moor Street and Snow Hill.
Moor Street is closer to St Andrews than New street
