Lower league / non league football?
Who is interested or not interested in lower league football? Anyone watch any lower or non league team?
Anyone even watch The Football League Show on Saturday nights?

I have vague memories of Aylesbury being in the conference sort of late 80s, early 90s era.
Just checked it was the 88 / 89 season ! Quite why I remember this i've no idea.

Yeah thats the one, think it was before the 86 wc. No doubt that ground is a tesco now! I remember going as a kid and waiting for the arsenal score to be announced, half the ground were gooners!JMascis666 wrote:I remember a pheonix from the flames with Peter Beardsley because he scored 5 or 6 goals against Aylesbury in a pre world cup warm up game (86 or 90?)

I used go see Dulwich Hamlet with my Granddad if Arsenal were away. Or if it wasn't too far to travel away. I still keep an eye out for them.
A young Peter Crouch 19(?) was on loan with them....he was shite and for a 6.4ft striker couldn't header the ball!
When I was in my mid teens I was priced out of Arsenal. I used to take part in a soccer school run by Leyton Orient. One of the end at the end of the week was a voucher for a match. Me and a mate always took up that offer and soon Barry Heard took over and issued £10 season tickets for under 16. That was too good an offer to refuse and saw the majority of the games that season.

Went to watch Dulwich Hamlets during the non-league Saturday a couple of months back and have been to a couple of the home games since.
I quite enjoy it, no pathetic gestapo stewards, able to drink right by the touch line and entry to the ground costs the same as a hot dog/drink combo at the Grove- £6.
In relation to another topic on the forum, this is probably the kind of ground I'd take my daughters to first, less formal than the Grove and no one will care if they ran around and screamed there heads off.
