Do you know what is atmosphere?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

There you go.....

An atmosphere (New Latin atmosphaera, created in the 17th century from Greek ἀτμός [atmos] "vapor"[1] and σφαῖρα [sphaira] "sphere"[2]) is a layer of gases that may surround a material body of sufficient mass,[3]and that is held in place by the gravity of the body. An atmosphere may be retained for a longer duration, if the gravity is high and the atmosphere's temperature is low. Some planets consist mainly of various gases, but only their outer layer is their atmosphere (see gas giants).

Jesus the health and safety guys at the grove would all have to be carried off on stretchers if some thing like that atmosphere was at the emirates.

Down with that kind of thing

The Grove has a shit atmosphere/lack of noise for three reasons.

1. the accoustics aren't great in the new stadium

2. the seats are too far away from the pitch

3. most importantly, traditional Northbankers and ClockEnders have been dispersed/separated. Our club should have directed people toward the new singing areas when we moved. It's a bit late in the day to rename parts of the Grove. Thousands of people want to sit in the noisy areas. But it's not easy to change seats.

fuck off they lost 0-2 ... a game before that, Racing Club lost their last chance to get into Libertadores and they have just seen their rival (Independiente) win the Sulamericana Cup ...

they still went to their Stadium and sang their hearts out.

fucking brilliant atmosphere

The stadium is over half empty. Probably because anyone with even half a brain wouldn't want fireworks or flares thrown at them!!

I love a good atmosphere and was always right in the middle of the old North Bank but that is a teeny, weeny bit over the top.
