Will we really be buying:
Eto'o
Owen
Ribery
Torres
.....Anyone rated over £10m
Does anyone actually believe we are going to spend big?
Will we buy an established player?
Spending Big? Unrealistic Transfer Targets?

i think a lot depends on the reyes situation, with wenger saying he'd have no problems with jose coming back, although whether or not the player would is a moot point.
if we consider, that, goalkeepers apart, basically, the squad needs two players per position, it really comes down to whether wenger intends to change to a 4-3-3 formation. then eto'o could be justified. but wenger's never really done this except by using subs, so with th14, rvp, adebayor and bendtner, i can't see him signing another forward. if reyes comes back, then that doubly enures no extra forward.
8 midfielders - squad certs seem to be cesc, gilberto (unless a big offer comes in), rosicky, hleb (aw won't sell - if he planned to, he would have dropped the player by now), diaby, denilson, theo. freddie is the obvious doubt. maybe ribery might be the big signing if someone who will cover freddie's wages can be found. frankly, only inter are foolish enough to pay him that kind of money off the back of his last two campaigns. if not - there are your eight midfielders. and that doesn't even include the promising fran merida. oh and i almost forget alexandre song.
defence - eboue, hoyte, toure, djourou, gallas, senderos, clichy, traore.
keepers - lehmann, fabianski and probably poom - almunia will surely leave now.
so in terms of the numbers, it really comes down to the fates of freddie and reyes (let's please assume baptista will not be retained - what point is there in that?)
so if wenger's covered in terms of quantity, what about quality? we can obviously buy to improve. but with wages and transfers in the same budget, there would have to be some juggling and presumably some sales to make space for new arrivals, unless aw loans some players out to get them off the wage bill for the season.
let's just hope arsene's very active this summer and that ken friar is kept very busy filling in for david dein. the first team squad does need a shake-up. some of the under-achievers need to be moved on, with some players made of the right stuff brought in. the existing squad is big enough, but it just isn't good enough. more spirit, more composure, more strength in adversity is needed. many of the current crop are either too young or simply let their heads drop too easily. a bit of backbone is what's needed.
more on this on the main part of the website over the summer.

I think teh team is nearly there, squad we have is good enough, fell alot is to do with confidence.
Back four have been bad this season, but we know gallas, toure, eboue and clichy are good enough. Big phil was superb last season.
Midfeild again is strong enough in all positions. We are lacking a work horse and a leader, and possibly could buy one in, but who do we get and what money.
I think its teh strike force we lacking in. We have not scored enough this season. Goal sfrom teh front would have given the whole team confidence, we have done enough to win games just not put teh ball away.
for me strike force is the main area, adeybayor is a good squad player but not a no.1. Henry and VP are great players but not a central pin, both drift wide and highlight our lack of focal strike,r who banks them in (Ruud Van nistlroy esq) Buy a striker please AW, and dont train them into an attacking midfielder please
