finally got the hump

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Maybe but don't forget we bought Denis Bergkamp and Marc Overmars who started out in Dutch Football.

Suarez is class but if Liverpool play him up front on his own he'll struggle
needs a workhorse partner
him and Torres (if he stays) might not gel

Are people still banging on about Given? The same Given who is second to Joe Hart despite Hart making some howlers this season?

Oh well, you can always join your dad and brother in supporting Liverpool as they are doing so wonderfully this year :barscarf:

Different era, shite comparison.

Edit: Oh and yeah lets envy the scousers

Just show your dad/brother the league table and ask them who they drew in the CL. Simples.

LDB I know Gooners like you like to think the players we won't invest in are shite auttmatically and those we will pay bargain basement money for are all world-beaters but do you want to keep going through these periods of learning the hard way over and over that this policy does not work?

Put it this way - if we did buy him you'd be over the moon about it and he'd be "our Torres" and you'd be busy trying to defend that hand-ball from the World Cup any way you could.

I think you're confusing me with someone else?

I haven't seen enough of Suarez to pass comment, all I'm saying is that its a bit silly to compare the Dutch league circa 2011 to 1995/96.

I don't know where you've got this idea that im some evangelical defender of our transfer policy so I'm just going to assume its a case of mistaken identity?

I don't know - In my experience your own description of yourself may not be that far off. I've yet to see you criticize our financial policies which dictate our transfer policy in any way. Now if you believe I have somehow mis-interpreted your comments on individual players talents depending on who buys them I would have to look back, perhaps I have, perhaps not. I will try to be more clear in the future.
