horrific day
woke up late (big friday + medium sized saturday) looked out the window - Iskibgtonb was gorgeous; blue skies, sun blazing
put on my Wilshere - Arsenal DNA t-shirt and a thin jacket, grabbed my sunnies and pootled round the corner to Highbury & Islington
tube to Kings Cross, Met line to Wembley Park came straight away there in no time
stepped out of wembley park tube and the sky was black, rain pishing down, got soaked went to wrong ticket office, got more soaked eventually got tickets. Couldn't find curry house my mates were in. Like an eejit not transferred numbers to my new phone couldnt phone anyone. Did run into some boys I met when we beat AC Milan who that night christened me Jesus (long hair and a beard). Pay £4 several times for plastic cups of pissy beer. Watch a shite performance. Foster wonders right over to our section and takes the piss, what a c*nt. Take forever to get out. Starving.
I properly hate the new Wembley, it is pure shite. If I hear one more pundit say Birmingham 'deserved' it FFS well done Brum, great fight against the odds, Carr and Jiranek were awesome IMO and Johnson and the the exVilla wanker at LB (blank) were decent. But deserved eff all. They were battered for the last 60mins after a shite 1st 30.
If we beat Brum our keeper goaded their fans and a foriegn Arsenal player slapped a Brit defender in the back of the head after a mistake what would the backpage of every paper be?
to achieve our aims this season we are reliant on one of two things happening:
one massively injury prone (and injured) striker being fit for nearly every game
and our pretty injury prone (and injured) captain also being fit for nearly every game
that sounds unlikely
option two is their backups fill the gaps...
I still believe
but its mostly because I'm a mug

Not been to the "new" Wembley yet, but from what i've seen it does look pretty horrific. Heard Alan Davies describe it as "like a scene from that film The Road" todayhighburyJD wrote:stepped out of wembley park tube and the sky was black, rain pishing down, got soaked went to wrong ticket office, got more soaked eventually got tickets. The Champions League final, it conjures up images of exotic European locations, beautiful architecture & decades of history. Not some grotty estate in NW London lol.

The actual views and inside the "Bowl" are quite good.
But the rest?
Still not enough toilets, you would have thought they got that right.
The "corridors" feel and look like a National Rail station, with lots of very loud PA announcements reminding us to check for suspect packages, very soul-less.

It is a nightmare Wembley but the atmosphere was my issue (apart from the daydreaming players).
Now only season ticket holders were able to get tickets and the atmosphere told the truth. We have many people that have gone for years and now seem very comfortable with going to games and only the real biggies do the majority get up for it. Yesterday was evidence of this theory, that and a clear lack of an original song that can be sung to match other teams ie the Blues "End of the road". Yes there were sporadic groups having a go but the majority dont get involved. I personally had a good go yesterday but around me it felt very laboured effort to get songs going.
So the Gooners cant blame the JCL's and must take the blame for this one many others for that matter...
