The way to get their attention

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Hes a great guy, I think he would probably write a story on it. Matt law from the express would be another good un, they both tweet a lot about Arsenal.

I might send off a few emails tonight, see what their response is like. Need to think of the basis of the argument though.

"Victory Through Harmony"
"Dial Square 1886"
I think the name Arsenal FC, not PLC should be a go-er.

As Frank said, I'd be happy putting money in the pot for fliers, banners etc. Good shout from Rosie_titters.

Hope this gets off the ground.

One Question, what is our collective aim?
Jase - the only thing about using Arsenal FC, is that it's copyrighted. I say we steer clear of that. Victory Through Harmony gets my vote.

A mission statement needs to be written up, and then everyone can debate it until we agree on it.
Really? That could prove a little be of a problem then. Even if we use â„¢?

SteveO 35 wrote:I think Quartz is right...if this is really going to get the attention then it needs to be co-ordinated and its mission needs to be clear. There needs to be at least one, and preferably a wider group of spokespeople for the Group, that if ever given the chance by the club can clearly state their concerns and back them up with facts and evidence.

There would be nothing worse than it descending into a group that has no clear thinking; the club needs to know the list of things we are unhappy with.

The banners also need to be well thought out.

The Green and Gold movement was a crock of shit; xenophobic and nasty, taking banners around like "Die Glazer Die".....nice. We are better than that...
Agreed. As I said our goal is to stop the rot really, whatever the cause for it. I don't think a movement whose sole goal is either just to get rid of the manager or condemn the Board serves our purpose. It is critical that we stop the rot and that means getting the cause for it spot-on, and no one knows with absolute certainty what that cause is yet. There is evidence to suggest it might be either than manager alone the Board alone or most likely both together to some extent.

But it can only do more harm than good to simply choose one possibility and act solely on correcting that.

Unity of purpose is essential and that purpose has to be to stop the rot, to correct the decline, period and to be willing to address all possible reasons for it.

Actually ussing the traditional club motto could be quite clever even if it is copyrighted as that would be a PR disaster for the club if they were to take action as it would be clear evidence of howe much more purely corporate our Club appears to have become and would show their apparent disregard for the club's real values at this time as stated in that motto.

That could do more to fix media attention on this than anything else ironically enough - something to keep in mind at least.

Yeah SteveO has identified a clear and important item.

Anything that campaigns for"Wenger Out" or "The Board Out" is doomed.
It is too cliched, and by it's very nature encourages resistance against it.

Focus should be on getting the manager to buy more top quality players/improving the coaching.

And that is it.

Anything else such as ticket prices, relations with the club, etc is pointless, as there already exist fan organisations to deal with that, which have regular meetings with the club.

Our focus must be on changing the frustration of seeing a squad that has been "So near yet so far" for the last five years.

Good point, we dont want something which is covered by other organisations but then there are things which come under the remit of other organisations but are doing f**k all about it, namely ticket prices.

If you want to use a smaller banner for the signature I've got it on photobucket:
