watching games in Vegas.....

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

watching games in Vegas.....

Post by Gooner Whitey »

Well in a few weeks I am off to Vegas - that week we play spurs and bolton away. I obviously want to watch both, particularly **** away - so.....thought id ask on here if anyone has any advice on where I can watch it? My Dad is not to hopeful of finding anywhere on the strip to watch it. I've never been across the pond before so don't know how they are with their sport and what they show but know enough to presume a soccer match between the Arsenal Cannons and the tottenham wankors is not going to be given much of a hoot.

Any american forum users or other forumers that have been in vegas during the season that has any advice on where to watch games would be much appreciated :)

Finally could people please like my team for the O2 fives tournament. Would be very grateful :) - For the record myself and all my team mates have liked the OnlineGooner team....hope we both make it :)

I follow a couple of the Arsenal America guys on facebook & twitter, sounds like the "Crown & Anchor" will be your best bet mate, although it shouldn't be hard to find other places showing it. Most games are televised over there now either on FSC or ESPN.

Remember the time differences can be a killer though. Spurs away is a 7.45pm KO isn't it? So that'll be 11.45am Vegas time. Bolton will be an 8am kick off though, ouch!

I go to Vegas every year (been 14 times now :D ), the Crown and Anchor is indeed the best place to go, for atmosphere. A lot of the Sportsbooks will show it live as well - I watched our Beer cup win at WHL last September in MGM's sports book on a huge screen, was 8 Gooners there and one Spud  , quite a few Yanks watched it as well.

Not fussed on Crown and Anchor, its a bit out of the way. The sports places will usually have it on.

really up for this vegas trip and got to say im a bit of gambler myself so only taking a set budget out otherwise i wont be able to renew my ST haha.

How far from the strip is this crown and anchor? Im staying in the monte carlo (think thats next to MGM grand) and would prefer not to travel too far unless I have to.

Although if those c*nts at BA go on strike i may not get there!!!! Sack the lot of them i say...stupid union. Those stewards and stewardesses earn twice what virgin staff do let alone ryanair and easyjet, thousands of staff from other airlines would love to work for BA! ...rant over - come on arsenal! :barscarf:

If you're staying there just take a cab ride there it isn't too far. Definitely go watch the match there though

Yeah, get a cab, if I remember rightly, C&A is down East Tropicana, which is the road that runs down the side of the MGM Grand. Monte Carlo is actually on the other side of the strip and down a bit so a little walk to the MGM. I've stayed at Monte Carlo before, it's not bad at all and a decent price too!
If you do go down East Tropicana, that's the road 'The Gun Store' is on too, well worth going to whilst you're in Vegas if you want to shoot live ammo. I've been there 4 times now and have shot about a dozen guns including an AK47, MP40, M-16, .457 Magnum, a few Glocks, Sig Sauer, Chinese Assault Rifle, Winchester rifle........I love it! If you do go, take ID - drivers licence or passport! In fact you need that everywhere in Vegas, you're normally asked for it to get into clubs and lounges.
