new away kit

NEW SHIRT

Post by Eboue Can't Defend »

After some of the horror stories of what it was going to look like, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised when viewing the supposed new shirt.

As someone past his physical peak (except where it matters most - in the chamber of love  ), I've not been a big fan of wearing a football shirt because - lets be honest about it - almost everyone over 30ish looks kind of silly in one. However, the great thing about this country is that you are free to choose whether or not to buy it.

Me? I'm with green gooner on this one. Even if I only end up wearing it half a dozen times, it is something that has tickled my fancy.

Does anyone know what the shorts will look like? I need something to wear for the up-coming summer (and around the house) because my 2003/4 shorts have seen better days .

I think it's quite a nice looking top, but it looks like a training top to me.
I liked the away strip in 2003/04 (or maybe it's more the memories attached to that particular season!!) and 97/98 (also good memories!)

Thats what im thinking. But at least it looks better (redder rather lol) than the supposed all white and red current kit. I personally would have liked the blue.

I've been saying the away kit should be Yellow and Blue, but i suppose i should be careful what i wish for.

Best not be talking about the '92 shirt 'cos i love that. :x Maybe only 'cos it was my first ever Arsenal shirt but still. Look the shirt is ok but I just don't see how we can get away with having the same colour combination when it is supposed to be our 'Alternate shirt'

It would appear that I was a little hasty with the picture of the new "shirt" I posted a couple of weeks ago. This is the latest one to come to me. I'm assured that it'd the real deal. The Herbert Chapman thing seems pretty real to me. So for anyone that might be interested, this is what I am promised is the new away kit...

SORRY TONY, BUT THAT HAS GOT TO BE THE DODGIEST PICTURE YET!

IT LOOKS LIKE SUNDAY MORNING MARKET STALL PRODUCE.

WHAT COLOUR IS THAT AROUND THE NECK AND ARMS?

UNLIKE THE PREVIOUS PICTURE OF THE SUPPOSED NEW THIRD STRIP, WHICH I WAS QUITE FOND OF, THIS ONE (IF TRUE) WILL NOT BE FINDING ITS WAY INTO MY COLLECTION.

I Hate Helb: We meet again! I agree, the pictures are dodgy, but hey, don't blame me, I didn't take them! I prefer the one I posted earlier, too. But I have a sneaky feeling this could be the one. Here's hoping I'm wrong!

Completely forgetting about the 2nd picture posted, as that looks more like a t shirt - and a fuckin disgusting one at that, can anyone clarify that the first pic posted is authentic??

I only ask, as what i have i seen is the same shirt design, but with a slight difference.....

The side panels, emirates logo, nike tick etc etc (well, everything that is red in the picture) is actually in redcurrent. This would avoid the clash of colours on away days.

Typically, i cant find the pic to back up my claims, but thats what i have heard and seen.

I guess we will see the official pics when AFC release them

If its like the first pic, then i will buy it. Mind you, nothing we ever make, in any colour will ever resemble a **** Kit. We will never look down to the area over our hearts and see a cock!!!!!!

Thats all be grateful about that.....

Craig

I Hate Hleb and Craig Pollard, I'm afraid that picture is the actual white kit. I think this pretty much confirms it...

NEW STRIP

Post by I Hate Hleb »

Tony Saunders,

Thanks for the up-dated picture, and apologies for ever doubting you. I think we have the answer to my previous posting, namely: what colour were the neck and sleeves?. They appear to be Red Current (unless my eyes are playing tricks on me).

On reflection, the strip actually looks alright on the players in the photo (although I doubt it will look that good on me as I'm just about past my physical peak :( ).

I also think the shorts and socks are funky enough to distinguish the strip from those worn by the Spuds, Villa and West Ham.

Of course, we will only know for certain whether this is the new kit - and not some super-imposed forgery - when the Club deem it time to start the pre-sale publicity.

p.s. Tonysaunders: regarding your opening comment, as the lyrics of the Sting song says, "Every breath you take, every move you make, I'll be watching you!"

No wonder he's alergic to tackling. His little girls ankles look like they'd snap like twigs on the receiving end of a half decent sliding tackle!!

As far as this new jersey goes, I'm gonna take it with a pinch of salt a while longer. There is still nothing about it on the official Nike and Arsenal sites. Why not?

So, the question must be asked; where did this photo originate from? :?
