Szczesny:Before Wenger we were nothing

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

"He built this team from nothing and he is the best manager in the world"

Not only is the manager deluded but the players are as well

Yep, that's right. We were nothing. We had never won the league, hadn't won any FA Cups, didn't bother with the league cup, didn't win any European Finals. Before Wenger we were something, with Wenger now, we are nothing.

I haven't got the time to even answer that in detail.

Disappointed in Battersby.

Can Tony Adams please sit him down for a chat about our history please?

Or does Arsenal have a propaganda machine just like North Korea? No history before the dear leader.

Well to be fair, nowhere in the article does he actually say "Arsenal were nothing before Arsene Wenger". However, it is not surprising that he says things like, 'If you ask any of the players, we will all stand by the manager,'. Of course they will, he protects his little babies and pays them huge salaries despite their continued and on-going failure.

Isn't there a second way of interpreting that though?

How about, "he buillt this team from nothing" as in built this current team from fuck all in terms of $$$$ and with mostly largely unknowns? Unless these are only half of the quotes then i would suggest his words may have been twisted. Afterall, he didnt say "he built this CLUB from nothing" did he?

For the princely sum of £985 you can even go and rub his belly for good luck. Plus they'll chuck in a free beach towel!
