Arsenal v Milan official thread???

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Arsenal v Milan official thread???

Post by Chippy »

No I am not trying to upstage IHH.

Other forums start a game thread a few hours before kick off so that people can congregate in one place. a number of times on match days we end up with 2 or 3 different threads, sometimes competing.

Anybody got any views or am I being too anal? :?

Anyway to start things off I am already in my shirt and raring to go. I have not felt so nervous about a game for a long time

It looks like apart from super Tom and RvP we can play the strongest line up. Suppose the biggest question will be 442 or 451. Personally I would prefer 442 as I think we need a 2 goal cushion going to the san Siro. i know le boss will play Eboue but i would like to see Theo come on for 20 minutes at the end as all their old blokes should be knackered. :D

Assume it will be Dudu and Ade up front.

Avanti gli rossobianchi.

I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THEO COME OF THE NECH TOO, INTO A CAB TO A CHAMPIONSHIP SIDE.

BUT SERIOUSLY, I REALLY THINK WE CAN DO THIS TONIGHT. CANT WAIT TO SEE MALDINI ASWELL (IV GOT A NON GAY THING FOR HIM)

REALLY THOUGHT TODAYS GAME WOULD HAVE BEEN PERFECT FOR DIABY AS HE WOULD HAVE GOT THE SPACE THAT WE ALL KNOW HE WOULD CRAVE IN THE MIDDLE

DONT BE FOOLED BY THE AGEING DEFENCE, THEY READ THE GAME SO WELL THAT PACE WILL NOT BE A PROBLEM FOR THEM

I cant wait.Am at work now roll on 5pm then on my way to the ground(Few pints on the way)

We must play 4-4-2 at home

Jens

Sanga Gallas Toure Clichy

Eboue(god knows why) Cesc Flamini Helb

Ade Dudu

i would take any win with a clean sheet to the San Siro

That Right Mid position is a real issue.

I dont want Eboue there,
Theo aint ready yet and he's deffinatly a central player.

So Whats the Answer. Kolo can play there but we need him at CB,
Hoyte perhaps?
Hleb and then have someone else play Left mid? RVP if he's fit?!?!

Thoughts?

Right side

Hleb on the right with Dudu on the left, three in centre mid. Gilberto, Cesc and Flam in the middle. Ade up top alone. Enough players to stifle Kaka, Pirlo and co but enough attacking elements to get goals.
That's my theory anyway.

I can never understand the Eduardo on the left business. He is a goalscorer, a poacher, if he is to be played then has to be played as a striker or you take away the most important part of his game ie finishing. He is not a winger but a goalscorer

I didn't say I approved of that formation, just think there's a chance he may pack the midfield cos that's where we came undone against United. As soon as I saw their midfield I text my mate and said I hoped it wasn't another WHL. Gallas summed it up when he said away from home we need to be ready to fight first and play our game only after we've won the fight. A good bit of caution is on the cards tonight. Can't see hell for leather attacking in the first 20 minutes. Milan are masters of the patient game so no good throwing everything at them from the KO.

IMO Wenger Plays Eddie on the wing is so he can from 4-5-1 to 4-4-2 without making a sub

Didn't think of that advantage to it.
I always want RvP to be there to light up European nights like this and get deserved recognition around Europe, but he's always injured. All those great European nights last season he missed. What a shame.
This season was meant to be the one where he stepped up, after Thierry's departure, and developed into the incredible player he is. It looked like it was staring to happen and then he got crocked.

Take our chances, play at high pace.

Lets do it.

Don't get too excited is my main advice. Yes an early goal will be great but don't push it, they'll pick us off too easliy. High tempo great but watch the breaks, if Mad-e-u plays well, breaks em up, feeds it to cesc, I can see good things.

Keeping my kids up past bed time for this so don't let me down boys!
