Well he sure has failed on all those fronts recently. When did we last benefit from his so called 'experience'? What leadership qualities did he show in the Carling Cup Final after Van Persie went off injured? And why should someone so hopeless continue to be paid huge amounts of money in the expectation that they will not 'play too many games'? This is no Vieira or Keown we are talking about. I would rather take his salary and invest it in a new player that will actually contribute something. The idea that Rosicky is some sort of talisman for the younger players is a laughable. I would imagine that most of the younger players see in him everything that is bad about the club i.e. weak mentally, weak physically and simply not good enough to wear the Arsenal shirt. This is the very sort of player that we need to clear out of the Club - not reward them for even more failure. If Wenger really has told him that he wants him around next season, it is just another sign that Wenger’s time is up too.Bendtners Drinking Buddy wrote: He has experience, has won things and can help the younger players - I doubt he will play to many games from the off, but i dont think he does any harm being part of the squad.

Embarrassed.Waiting With Wenger
Arsene Wenger tries to explain why Arsenal's only business so far this summer has been the purchase of an unknown 19-year-old: "We are in a waiting period, everybody is waiting that the other [club] moves. Everybody has their cards in [their] hands, hoping for the big transfer. There is nothing moving yet."
Everybody's waiting, nothing is moving yet and there haven't been big transfers? So presumably he missed Man Utd - the team Arsenal need to catch to win the league - spending over £50m on three players (at least one of whom Arsenal badly need). Or Liverpool dishing out £15-20m on one player. Or Sunderland's five transfers and Newcastle's four.
And it's not just in England. Real Madrid have spent 25m euro on bringing in four players. Newly minted Malaga have spent another 25m euro on six players. Even Valencia, who are more in debt than Greece, have managed to make two signings for 15m euro. In Italy, Juve have splashed out 36m euro on seven players, Roma 20m on two, and Milan have brought in three new signings. In Germany, Bayern have spent 25m euro on three players.
But apart from that, Arsene's right. Very little's been happening. Best to wait and see how things pan out.

let's get this straight bG and BDB before you go all persecution complex on us again.
Wenger will be a *word censored* if he allows this guy to stay. Rosicky IS a *word censored* because he has played like a *word censored* since his injury problems cleared up. Where was his supposed experience and leadership when we really needed it? Where was the feeling that here was someone who was looking to repay the patience a club had shown in a player who had taken alot of money out of the club, and contributed very little. It was absolutely nowhere to be seen.
The guy's appearance in Barcelona was an all time low for both manager and player - both of whom are *word censored* - but for different reasons.

i simply can't agree, marc. i understand your points, but why do you say he played like a *word censored* since his injury? in my eyes he played like an injury-prone man who is past his best and has clear physical issues. he was never a real leader, basically a gifted winger who could create much and had a good shot outside the box, another of the many things he lost with time.marcengels wrote:let's get this straight bG and BDB before you go all persecution complex on us again.

however i never saw him dragging his ass on the pitch like denilson does. his body language tells me that he wants to do it, the problem is that he lost all his pace and much of his creativity. when we score, he always seems to be one of the happiest lads, i think his heart is in the right place.
i still think he is a nice lad and a great player who is waaay past his best and should be let go, but since wenger's decision making has been abysmal in the last few years, he'll probably think rosicky can still be a good player and something he NEVER was and never will be: a leader.
