Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to sign

Not what we need right now, one for the future but why worry about the future when we dont even have a present? Not much to get excited about, fuck knows why the *word censored* spends money an an unknown and yet makes fucking shit bids for proven premiership players in positions that we need strengthening

I dont expect this signing to be a replacement for Nasri, and i dont expect this to be the signing of real quality we are all anticipating. Wenger has come out and said we will sign more, lets hope its sooner rather than later
Now this I do agree with, watching pretend wingers like Bendtner, Chamakh, Vela etc was fucking painful at times last season.

At least now we've got three players who have got pace in attacking positions

I welcome the lad on board. No it isn't the defender we crave, and if the GIC fails to deliver on that he will get slated and rightly so.....BUT it does address another missing ingredient of the this squad which is a shocking lack of pace

alex fuckin oxlde chamberlain for 12 million upfront. woop de fucking doo.....really what we need to solve our problems. at least this transfers blows all the akbs nonsense about AW not having any money out of the water for once and for all.

he may be a good signing, in 5 years, but 12 million upfront, which is what it was, is a ridiculous amount for someone with half a good season in div 3. a shocking signing if the areas of the team that actually need strenthening, goalscorer, dm, 2 cbs, left back, experienced keeper, are not addresed, which only one of might be.

we have enough jam tomorrow players, why are we always buliding for a future that never comes cos we neglect the here and now.

oh yeah the thing about him being neville chamberlains grandson...th youth of todays knowledge of our history...oh dear quite embarrasing really (ffs im only 25 and im thinking that now!)

Welcome to The Arsenal, Alex. Best of luck in your career.

:barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

Hope you go on to become an Arsenal Legend, obviously.

I still believe that Wenger ( and Kroenke ) will address the blindingly obvious deficiencies we have at the back, so am seeing this as a positive move, getting a couple of proper wingers in to start playing our quick, counter-attacking football that was so beautiful to watch.

Cesc and Nasri out, a couple of proper centre backs and a defensive midfielder in, and this will have been an OK transfer window.

And the bit above has to happen, otherwise it will have been a fucking joke of a window.

I am still confident/hopeful. There is no alternative. 22 days to go. We should have done it all in June, but better late than never, Mr. Wenger!!!

Wide midfielders or wingers. Big difference with our formation.

What is wrong with people? Why slag him off before he has even played? YES we need a defender, but are people seriously forgetting matches last season like Newcastle (h), West Ham (h), Leeds (h), Huddersfield (h), Orient (a), Ipswich (a), Stoke (h), Sunderland (h), Rovers (h) where we either didn't win or only just scraped by because we didn't have enough creativity, pace or directness. I haven't seen Alex OC either, but with him and Gervinho Wenger seems to have addressed this problem. Good luck to them both.

Now go out and buy us a CB Arsene.

OK so AW is compensating for Nasri going but this lad does look the business, albeit in the lower leagues  CB next and another striker would be acceptable!

In the meantime do we have a song for this lad... I think 'Feed the Ox and he will score' as imortalised by Shaun Goater
