I've had enough of being treated like a fucking idiot.
As I said, it has to stop now

You have just contradicted your original post on when Wenger should go, with the term"new manager syndrome" . Surely if we lost lets say 5 of our opening 6 games and Wenger was sacked. Surely wa too would reap the reward of "new manager syndrome".richpye wrote:I don't disagree with any of what you say. Also Dalgleish got the benefit of new manager syndrome, so if you give Wenger the same new manager syndrome benefit then we would have been champions as well.
Both of my arguments above are silly, but just the same as yours. You can manipulate stats which ever way you want to, to make a case for your argument but one stat that doesn't lie is the Premier League Table.
Back to the point of the conversation, the BBC website has done some very neat editing of the press conference to suit their own ends. You have to watch Wenger's expressions to get the full meaning behind his words
I hope you're joking mate!
This deceitful old man is paid £7million a year to manage Arsenal FC but we "have to watch his expressions to get the full meaning behind his words".
His mis-management of our club is appalling - the Fabregas saga overshadows our entire off season but we still lose our Captain and best player the day before the season starts, for the same money we were offered 15 months ago.
The Nasri situation is a joke as was Flamini's departure.
Our collapse last season was spectacular, even by our all too familiar standards. Our defending is a total joke but Wenger keeps saying everything is alright, and he keeps buying more tippy-tappy lightweight forwards rather than some decent defenders.
I could go on - but all you say is "we need to to look at his expression". We need to see his back as he leaves us and allows a new man to restore our pride.
All I am saying is that words alone on the BBC website didn't tell the whole picture. For example when I saw him say "I expect no players to leave", you also see the curved smile on his face which to me says that he is lying through his teeth and that he knows players will leave

I could never want Arsenal to lose, But I can understand the reasons why people may feel that way.terry henry wrote:Couldn't imagine wanting us to loseEboue-Why? wrote:40 years of following this club. He might treat journalists with contempt but in reality he is treating us with complete and utter contempt as we are the ones that want & need the answers. The journalist is only asking the questions that we all want answers to.kiwomya wrote:I think sometimes it's better to see/hear him actually say it than to pick up on selective quotes online. "Cesc is not on strike. Cesc is not injured, he's not match fit. I don't want to go any deeper than that," he added.
"Nasri went for the national team, he was sick, and he has not completely recovered yet. There are no other aspects why he is not in the squad.
"I believe the best for us, one day before the Championship to start, is not to focus on possible transfers."
He treats us fans with complete and utter contempt. He might feel that he is being smart with the journalist concerned but it is us lot that want to hear the truth and the journalist is only asking what we all want to ask.
I pray that this foolish man is forced to go this season because it is so sad to see the man that gave us the Invincibles turning into this joke figure.
It has to get worse before it get better I'm afarid. The worst that could happen for us is probably that we are in with a chance of titles in March and finish fourth again. The 00/01 season made Wenger realise something had to be done, hopefully he will get one of those moments again.Bradywasking wrote:I could never want Arsenal to lose, But I can understand the reasons why people may feel that way.terry henry wrote:Couldn't imagine wanting us to loseEboue-Why? wrote:40 years of following this club. It's quite sad, but I have the feeling of wanting us to lose sometimes as well. Mostly meaningless games that will stop Wenger rambling afterwards about his great young team. It's in the hope we benefit in the future.Bradywasking wrote:I could never want Arsenal to lose, But I can understand the reasons why people may feel that way.terry henry wrote:Couldn't imagine wanting us to loseEboue-Why? wrote:40 years of following this club. It is these journalists who will bring Wenger down, his pathetic image will be backpage news following every defeat this season, they will destroy him and he will indeed deserve every last scything remark aimed his way.Jumpers For Goalposts wrote:He might treat journalists with contempt but in reality he is treating us with complete and utter contempt as we are the ones that want & need the answers. Wenger is cocooned from reality, to the extent that only a select few are allowed anywhere near him and his precious little babies. Being smart with journos would be fine if the trophies were rolling in - but they're not so we have every right to expect answers to these questions.
And the media portray Wenger in a certain way because he makes it so easy for them to do this. Everyone can see the faults in his plan (except him and a few acolytes) but still he offers up these lame excuses.
I'm afraid he deserves any stick he gets - and I hope he gets some enormous stick in the forthcoming matches.

That is a quality article. And the worst thing about it is - I should be trying to defend the Arsenal manager, but I find myself agreeing with every word!rodders999 wrote:goonersid wrote: It is these journalists who will bring Wenger down, his pathetic image will be backpage news following every defeat this season, they will destroy him and he will indeed deserve every last scything remark aimed his way.
Spot on Sid. Where once every journalist would lap up his every word and where criticising Wenger in the press was seen as sacrilege, now he is the subject of ridicule on the back pages. No more so than this scathing article in today's Sun.
