Arteta will push the deal through i think because at his age this will be the last chance he gets to play for a bigger team than everton and play in the champions league.

Lets take encouragement from the signing of Santos and Mertesacker. Experienced players like those are just what we need. But dear god not Benayoun, if the stuff about Arteta is true then get him over that chav any day! :banghead: also experienced, has been on the Premiership and would do a better job in the centre of midfield.

Was hoping we would sign Gary Cahill and some quality midfielders.

Dont think the likes of Wilshere and Van Persie will be too impressed today. All hot air from the club as usual.

I'm not completely against Benayoun don't get me wrong, but as Augie said, he'd be a squad player NOT as some kind of Cesc/Nasri creative replacement for the first XI.

I am 99% against signing yossi (the 1% is the diaby factor   ) and I have to admit that I would rather sign nobody at this stage than sign him  I know I will get slated for saying this but I would rather have vela, lansbury or denilson in the squad than yossi
Seems OTT to me.

Have seen him play few times in person for Liverpool, experienced in Premiership, good nippy player with an eye for a pass and can play in several positions.

If it is a one year deal then there is a minimum gamble on his fitness which would be a concern over a longer deal.

Be careful what you wish for as that might happen and our attacking hopes may rest on that nugget Diaby or worse Rosicky.

Benayoun on loan, probably the only way our club oculd be more of a laughing stock.

i'm no benayoun fan, but surely has to be a better option than Rosicky or Arshavin

I just want 11 players who look like they care and give 100% and there are not many in the first team at the mo who look like that

Watching the live coverage of transfer deadline day on SSN, is there anything pikier than a gaggle of Stoke fans?

None of them appear to have jobs, as they've been standing outside the shittania stadium all day
