Has Pat Rice's time come up and who should replace him.....

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I feel a traffic cone but would be an adequate replacement, couldn't really do any worse...

Bould/Keown/Adams. We need someone about the club to instill what it means to play for Arsenal. Pat Rice just seems like another yes man.

i dont like seeing pat rice next to arsene, pats so far up arsenes arse its unreal... he just nods his head to whatever wenger says. hes certainly under the thumb... i'd rather see someone more opinionated than pat rice as our assistant manager personally.... someone that will tell wenger when hes wrong, like paul merson.

Why don't you apply?

Pat Rice is still there, because Wenger wants him there. Wenger doesn't want to be challenged by anyone so this thread is pretty pointless. Nothing will change, whoever his Assistant is.

i know pat rice has had a bit of stick from some gooners(which is out of order)but the best signing wenger can now make is promoting steve bould to his coaching staff.it doesn't matter how good your defenders are,if you are not getting the defensive basics right, then you are still going to have trouble.the biggest beef i have had with the defence is when we play a high line, which means in theory we are closing down the space in front of our opponents.but the big problem that as happened so many times now its boardering a criminal offence and, that is when we stand of players, not putting them under pressure giving the opposition TIME to look up and play ball in and behind our defence, that as been a huge problem for us.it's so,so simple to deal with and thats frustrating.all we have to is drop back 10 yards, leaving no space behind us.who cares if we let them have more space,as long as it's in front of you then there's nothing to worry about. the big danger is getting in and behind us.some of our defenders don't know when to play the off-side trap or go with the runner.personally,i think unless you are 100% sure that it's off-side then you must back your ability and go with the runners.an obvious point to this was when villa scored for barca at the emiraters, kos played off-side instead of going with viila.this is something i'll be looking out for saturday.but would love steve bould to be defensive coach at afc.

Lets hope Wenger goes with Rice at the end of the season. Its not a new number 2 we want but a new number 1.Wenger would only bring in another yes man.Grimandi or Remi Garde what a fucking joke

Can't see Vieira being a good coach. I also dislike the Arsenal French Connection, it's way too cozy for the likes of Wenger.

I'd make Wenger the number 2, and get Mourinho in as the coach. Ohhh, imagine the touchline disagreements
