Beware the Germans are coming

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

hey gooners!

just signed up for writing to you guys as bvb fan. first of all i've to tell you, that i'm following, as far as german sky broadcasting, every arsenal game. always liked they way you are playing and they way wenger brings up young talents (ok maybe you should have signed new players after nasri and fabregas left).

but there a few things i don't understand. why the f isn't it allowed to wear away colours in the neutral blocks? i mean i understand that your not allowed to wear them colours in a arsenal fan block, its similar to dortmund. you not allowed to wear away colours on the südtribüne. but everywhere else its no problem at all. the next thing is: why are you not allowed to sing or cheer when you are not sitting in the away block. come on its football! what about the emotions? cheering for your team doesn't mean to insult you or be disrespectful. its just supporting your team. i would never have a problem with an arsenal fan cheering next to me in the westfalen stadion. because i would do the same thing. you know? i'm following the discussions on the bvb board. they are getting red memberships for getting tickets. after your workers have realised that, they stopped it and just give tickets to red members with booking history. after someone said, that it isn't allowed to wear away colours, the unity (dortmund ultras) will be selling this to be able to support in our colours at your stadium http://the-unity.de/assets/images/News/ ... alling.jpg

its cool though, but is this how it has to be?

looking really forward to be guest in your stadium. and i'm about to chant my lungs off to support what i love!

Welcome to the forum mate. Sadly, you will find out that watching football in England is very different to Germany. Don't worry about singing or chanting in the home sections, for every loudmouth who say's he'll give you a slap, there will be 10,000 others who really won't care, and to be honest probably won't even notice  Sing, shout & swear all you like, you'll be fine. Plus, i'd rather hear you guys singing than the total silence from our tourist fans.

Great choreo against Wolfsburg by the way. I'll be at the game against Kaiserslautern, can we expect more of the same? :D

We haven't got neutral blocks mate, it's only home or away in 91 out of 92 League grounds.

Blame the Scousers and South Yorkshire police.

Do Dortmund have more fanatical supporters in Germany than other teams? We have played German teams a few times in the European Cup and i cant remember a ticket chase from the Germans like we have had on here before!!

They are some of the most fanatical & passionate. Off the top of my head maybe only Dynamo Dresden can match them for passion & sheer numbers & they're in the league below. Bayern, Schalke & the like do travel well but I'd compare them a bit more to Chelsea or Utd - tourists, fairweather fans etc, whereas Dortmund are a real "working class" club.

I don't want to scare any of the travelling dortmund contingent but we have a notoriety for creating a bit of trouble at home in the champions league:
