Goetze saga

Maybe Goetze is more likely to sign for us in January now that Dortmund are no longer in the Champions League!

In the same way that Cahill and Samba were definitely going to sign 'next week' for the entire Summer, plus at various points in the past we were definitely going to sign Hazard, Mata and M'Vila......

It WILL NOT happen and I will gladly have a little bet with anyone that wants to.

Exactly. Dortmund are more likely to be in the Champions League next season than us. He also wouldn't be able to play in this seasons for us if he did sign anyway!

Are there people out there, still seemingly oblivious to the lies we've heard in about 7 or 8 consecutive transfer windows, that can honestly see Lord Wenger, Mayor of Financialfairplaysville and chief UEFA moraliser, suddenly paying £25m or so for one player

Not a fucking chance in hell. He'll be too busy monitoring what Chelsea and City are up to before patronising us all with his economic forecasts. Honestly, he should really apply for a job working alongside the EU country leaders on how to put together refinancing deals and implement austerity measures - something he genuinely enjoys.
