Cesc - I had to leave

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

He's bang on the money. The players don't give a fuck. They turn in half arsed performances, are laughing with the opposition before they've even left the ground after the game, go home to their mansions and then head out for a slap up meal.

We moan on forums but never take any action or voice our opinions. We carry on paying the stupid prices and next week we're back for more of the same. Clapping players off the field after pathetic displays like Stoke away last season.

He says what we're all thinking. Why hate on him?

Interesting that Cesc indicates that many fans are too compliant and don't demand enough....wonder what he meant by that...
Agree he should shut up now though. I'd still rather have him and you can take back Benayoun, Arteta back to Primark.

I dont disagree with him or what youve said above but its a bit like a gooner family. We all bitch and moan and slag of things at our club on here we are unhappy about but to 'outsiders' i wouldnt say the same things, i defend Arsenal against everyone........ Cesc made a good living and career out of Arsenal Football Club now he wanted to go, he wasnt forced out, so get on with your new club Cesc and stop knocking ours

We now have a better team spirit than we ever did whilst he was here. Can't believe we made him captain, what a joke.

+1

We do seem to have a more coherent group of players this time around. Should have made RVP captain back then instead of cesc but was always injured.

By all means, cesc gone. Move on. He could have stayed till 2013, 10 years at the club to go down with the greats on the history books, but he chose to leave. In 10 years time, he will be remembered for his stats no more.

Shocking level of disrespect to a player that served us so well for a number of years and it both saddens me and embarasses me tbh

It's all very well and good telling cesc to get over it and move on but it seems many Gooners cant do that either - it appears that many cant get past the way he left and are allowing their anger to cloud their views of a guy that served us so well and would have been an absolute legend in previous wenger teams but never had a chance to become a legend playing alongside the shite wenger has accumlated in recent years :(
Yes his transfer was dragged out over two seasons and was a major distraction but didnt henry's transfer to barca drag out in the same way and yet many are going to worship at the feet of his "legends statue" today as his reputation appears unblemished :? Hypocrisy at it's best

No disrespect to Fabregas, but he was never going to be an Arsenal legend..
For most of his time, tt was a matter of WHEN he is going back to Barca. I feel like he stayed here a bit longer not for the love of Arsenal but because he thought he wouldn’t get into their first team and wanted to at least win something here.
However he gave 100% when he was here, and for that I have the greatest of respect for him, but he was never going to be a legend.

Couldn't agree more, mate

It's like the mafia on here. We demand respect and loyalty from our "family" and they'll be treated like sons whilst they're important - but, if they want out, the gloves are off and the venomous OG mafia will stab them in the back and even have them "sleeping with the fishes" before they've had time to clean out their locker

Loyalty? pfft - some on here need to practice what they preach! :x

RvP is a legend as far as I'm concerned regardless of whether he stays or goes.

What has RvP done to be any more of a 'legend' than Cesc?
