Is there really a need for this thread, there is no credible link to him and we all know he will never sign. Not only that but most people have never seen the guy play, yet think he will solve everything.

Not in the January window nor in the summer window.

I think most of you are clever enough to actually know this.
The rest should take their Arsenal "glasses" of and look at the reality.

Götze will first of all not be sold in January. FACT.
In the Bundesliga, we simply don't rush into some crazy winter transfers and spent millions and millions of Euros. Maybe Bayern pulls it off ones or twice, or clubs like Leverkusen and Wolfsburg with big corporates to back them up money-wise.
Also, the Euros are coming up next summer. Götze could potentially play a vital role in the German squad. So why sell him now, when this market value could get a serious bump up?

Second, why should we sell Götze for some 20-25 mill., when we declined an offer of 40 mill. (wait a minute... That offer came from you guys!! Even if it only was a rumour)

Thirdly, and sorry.. most important. He won't go to Arsenal.
He wants to win the league, the cup(s) and the CL. Thats just where his potentials are.. to play for a club who could actually achieve this. And atm, thats just not you.
Madrid, Barcelona or United. Thats where he'll go. I'm sorry.

Sammy seems really convinced.. I don't know where thats coming from. Oh sorry, I forgot. He got sources reeaally high up.
Maybe he's just trolling and some of you are falling for it?

I don't mean no offense. Really not. I just wan't to get some of you guys back to reality.

I was at the game a couple of weeks ago and absolutely loved it. You should work on your support though.. but I guess you know that.

Cheers from Copenhagen!
firstly why are you here?

secondly, just admit it, youre going to lose this player because you dont have the ambition despite him being a BVB supporter. i also find it funny that a you think that arsenal lack CL ambition, when your team hasnt even qualified and couldnt beat us. Arsenal would always be a better option than staying in BVB.

Based on what exactly ? :? If we finish 5th or 6th this season, as many gooners expect, then how would playing in the europa league (or not in europe at all) be a better option than staying with dortmund and playing in the champs league ? Dortmund are a young team on the up who are reigning german league champions and are just 3pts off top spot at the mo whilst we are a team on the slide berift of top level players (rvp aside) and have very much become a selling club unable to keep their best players :(

Dismissing a club like dortmund (who have actually won a european cup btw) is so fcuking disrespectful especially from a fan of a club like our's who are in major shit at the mo

Augie, let it ride mate. How many times have we been here before with players we're destined to sign

I'm still waiting for gooner.ed and others to unveil Cahill and Samba (and have been for about four months). Thought Hazard and M'Vila were both nailed on too.

Nobody's coming in of any note in January. You know it, I know it. Let people have their little bit of fun thinking we might sign one of Europe's top young players before settling for a cheap Ligue 2 signing or re-signing a 35 year old on loan

That wasnt the point I was making though steve o - I find it cringeworthy that some fans feel that we are in a position to look down on a club like dortmund despite having nothing to back up that air of superiority

I don't disagree, although Dortmund's long absence from the CL before this year is something we've managed to avoid - until now anyway. To be honest this whole thread is a sorry fucking episode. Goetze is not coming. He's got the attention now of leading clubs in Europe and we aren't one of them. We can still attract the Gervinho's and Koscielny's and we help to make them into better players. I think we are on a par with Dortmund. If this kid can get a move to a Madrid or United then we all know what will happen

....mind you I'm sure I read in 2006 that we were moving to "compete with Europe's elite"

Several years of history repeating itself, having a few grey hairs and even more in funny places that make me able to separate "Match magazine transfer rumours that are well wicked like" from the realities of life, knowing that every other major club in Europe wants Goetze and are light years ahead of us in terms of ambition and in most cases resource.

Other than those small points, just a hunch I suppose

We are seriously becoming like the scum in the late 90s and early noughties deluding ourselves that world class players will come to us,living on past history crap.

Goetze is not what we need and even if he was he's now the best young player in the world/Europe (can't remember which bollocks award he won) which puts a couple more zeros on his price tag.

FFS our record signing is £15million pound useless russki and now you think our tight-fisted club will sanction £30-£35million for a young kid   :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

This... above, Wenger would rather spend 10-12 million each on 3 useless wankers, like Gervinho, putting them on a wage of between 50-70 grand a week.

I came here a week before our CL game against Arsenal. Just to see what you guys are thinking about the game aso, maybe write a little comment (which I didn't in the end).

I think you are hurtin' about the citeh match. Calm down.
As I said, I'm not here to offend anyone. And if I did, I'm really sorry.

Yes, I agree he is going to leave Dortmund sometime. And so is every other Dortmund supporter.
We're not the ones lacking a sense of reality here.. ;-)

And I'm not even saying that Dortmund is the better option atm. I would say, as someone else before me, they're at par. But this is just a snapshot. Maybe in a years time this will look different.

We're just gonna enjoy what we have left of him. And after that enjoy watching him play for one of the biggest clubs.
And nobody is hurt. Hopefully... ;)

Forgive certain people mate. They suffer from "December Fever" - a disease that removes their mid to short term memory and replaces it with candy floss stories about new players that are about to join the club. The disease also strikes around late April/early May and sadly causes the sufferer to part with around £1500 (payable to Mr I Gazidis). The people then take their frustrations out on everyone else who drops by....its not personal :D

don't mind some of the people here mate, they're clearly on the windup, and that fatchaz guy is one of the worst.

it's obvious to me goetze is not coming for the reasons you highlighted - he would be more expensive than people are saying, i don't see why dortmund would sell him in the middle of the season, specially if they could get a lot more in a few months, and fucking hell, why would one of the brightest talents in europe move to a club that doesn't see a trophy for more than half a decade? why would he leave the german champions (his country btw), the club he's been for eight years, to join the eternal 4th placed of england? :?

i don't think sammy is on the wind up, he seems too serious to me  what i do think is that maybe his source inside the club thinks he knows more than he does. i can't see another explanation really. maybe the guy heard someone inside the club saying "we're gonna do everything to sign the kid" and thought that that was a done deal?

i think that even if arsène wenger himself decided that goetze is essencial for his team, signing the kid would be totally out of his reach, and arsenal's.
