Goetze saga

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

im not an BVB fan, therefore i dont have to show respect to them by licking their arse, especially when one of their fans come from nowhere and troll. Arsenal are a better prospect than BVB, regardless of the shite were in. England won the world cup once as well, doesnt mean anything really...not to me anyway.

firstly why are you here?

secondly, just admit it, youre going to lose this player because you dont have the ambition despite him being a BVB supporter. i also find it funny that a you think that arsenal lack CL ambition, when your team hasnt even qualified and couldnt beat us. Arsenal would always be a better option than staying in BVB.
I came here a week before our CL game against Arsenal. Just to see what you guys are thinking about the game aso, maybe write a little comment (which I didn't in the end).

I think you are hurtin' about the citeh match. Calm down.
As I said, I'm not here to offend anyone. And if I did, I'm really sorry.

Yes, I agree he is going to leave Dortmund sometime. And so is every other Dortmund supporter.
We're not the ones lacking a sense of reality here.. ;-)

And I'm not even saying that Dortmund is the better option atm. I would say, as someone else before me, they're at par. But this is just a snapshot. Maybe in a years time this will look different.

We're just gonna enjoy what we have left of him. And after that enjoy watching him play for one of the biggest clubs.
And nobody is hurt. Hopefully... ;)
don't mind some of the people here mate, they're clearly on the windup, and that fatchaz guy is one of the worst.
im being serious, and watching you and steve-o licking his arse is nauseating. I think a fan of another team coming here, puffing his chest out, is more of a wind up...than a Gooner trying to put that person in their place. get your priorities straight people!

FC, go and have a ***** or something and cheer yourself up. Both the Dortmund fans are hardly trolls. Both have made good contributions on this and other threads, like other fans we have on here.

It doesn't mean we need to arselick or anything, just have a reasonable debate.

I personally sense a nervousness in there posts, which keeps them posting ;)

I agree with bg here - I dont doubt sammy's word or his absolute commitment to this story but over the past few days we have seen more clubs linked with gotze and these clubs are wealthier and far more willing to spend than we are and history tells me that is not a good recipe for us.
We all know that even if we saudi money behind us, we have a manager and board who do not spend lavish amounts on players so the reality is that under this regime I cannot see gotze joining us :( Sorry sammy

We've always welcomed fans of other clubs on here once they are respectful and not trolling.

With all due respect mate, the media will take a look at the potential price tag and immediately link Chelsea/Man City/Barca (sometimes United) with the player even if they hold no interest at all.

Thats what makes you more likeable in my view (and many germans would agree).
I'm totally against the movement in the PL (or for all professional football clubs) to have some big moneyspenders who owns the club and spends tons of money on players they normally could never afford. Its simply an unfair competition and will sometime in the future ruin the PL.

I know that makes it harder for you to stay in competition with the likes of Chelsea, United and City.

But just look at how we did it with Kagawa. We paid 350.000€ for him. He was one of our key players in the title winning season and is now worth at least 15.000.000€.

Arsenal a better prospect than Dortmund?

Over the past seven years Dortmund have win a league title.
Arsenal have won nothing.

Next year Dortmund will be in the CL.
Arsenal will be in the Europa League.

Dortmund have top quality youth talents coming through.
Arsenal have Wilshere alone.

Dortmund have a CL.
Arsenal have nada.

Dortmund have an ambitious manager and board.
Arsenal have clowns with no ambition.

The only reason I can see for choosing Arsenal over Dortmund would be to get more money (and play in England).

Because especially with RVP gone, Arsenal are a club going nowhere fast.

It'd be a money based decision. Oh but hang on, I thought money had ruined football and Citeh are the devil etc...

Me personally ? But I dont know any germans ? :?

Anyway the sort of moral value's are what is leaving us trailing behind of being serious challengers for all the major trophies :( We (the fans) are not asking the club to splash out 50m on a player or do major investment a la citeeh but we are asking and expecting them to invest (properly) the money that is available to spend and has been available to spend over the last few summers

I can accept people like you taking a nice simplified view of the way our club is run because it is easier to do that from the outside - wenger's priority should be to do what is best for our club, his employers, and not concern himself withg this fairytale view the rest of the football world have of our club   :banghead:

God, it always gets like this once the schools have broken up for the holidays doesn't it? I take it youth club was boring today was it?

Get a grip fella. Pointing out the bleeding obvious i.e. that Arsenal won't sign a €25m rated player is hardly 'arse-licking' is it? Tell me how many players in that bracket we've signed to date......or do you still believe in all the 'busy window' shit that Uncle Ivan will be feeding you again over the coming weeks.

We are no less of a selling club than Dortmund. Didn't our manager say that we couldn't call ourselves a big club if we sold Nasri and Fabregas. Or have you forgotten that point?

I'm not saying that Dortmund are giants of European football, but neither are we
