i have just got home from the game and still as pissed as a fart.

I think that the last thirty minutes of that game were among the best moments I have had at the grove. the feeling when henry scored had me jumping around like a loon and even block 2 was rocking!! for a lil while it felt like an away game!!! Great man, great goal, legend. I got so carried away that after the game i got the boy an henry shirt thus giving club 43 quid.

But being a moody c*nt I got thinking on the train home. Why the fuck did it take a semi retired footballer (legend that he is) to get me (and the grove) going. I cannot remember the last time (if any) the moody moroccan, the bald headed fella, the midget russian (except anfield 09) got me feeling like that.

I realised that for a short while Henry made me feel like it was the old days again. it won't last and unless we slpash some cash it won't be happening again anytime soon.

I am going to bed tonight with a smile on my face but unfortunately it feels like it is for remembering the past and not the future. that makes me sad

i am so happy, Henry is a fucking machine even if he has lost a bit of pace, his desire has grown even more. Arteta impressed me a lot. still need someone to put the attempts away. i agree with tel and baba, although today was epic and a big slap in the face of the anti-arsenal media, to see Henry our shite team and seeing Dear Leader doing fuck all about it is worrying.

still...

I agree we were shit tonight but I was in the front row of block 7 so about as close as any spectator could be to the God when he struck that ball. 8) 8)

And then he came over and celebrated with me! :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

Hmmm, I'm not sure we played as badly as others have made out. We completed dominated a team that seemed intent on only one thing, getting a replay. In the 2nd half, we only let them have 1 genuine chance at goal, we just struggled to break down a very stubborn defence.

Positives

Yennaris - I thought this guy looked decent. Certainly more confident in position than Jenkinson when he has played.

Arteta - Much better game and for me, totally dominated the midfield

Ox - One of our few inventive performers. How he doesn't get more games is beyond me

Arshavin - Praise where praise is due. Good game for me last night and it shows he has been played out of position during his time with Arsenal

Henry - Enough already said

Negatives

Glad Leeds didn't actually try to attack us as Squillaci just gives you absolutely no confidence whatsoever

Ramsey - With the exception of one good move, he just seems unable to provide that spark at the speed necessary

Chamakh - This just bloody proves why strikers (good ones) cost so much money. Henry summed it up in his post match comments where he said that you have to take the 1 chance that comes to you and that is why you need someone deadly in front of goal other than RvP and we do not have it (once Henry returns to NY)

After all the jostling and celebrating - booze and happy dreaming...now we are back to the VERY SAD and ANGERING Reality that Wenger should have no need to call on the Legend that is TH to save our skins and get past a 2nd rate team like leedspasmodirtycunts, because he should already have back up player/s for RVP...and not bought the tesco rejects that are chamakh, arshavin, Park etc...and yet he still needs to buy a striker because once TH has left the building and headed back to N.York...we is Totally Fucked if RVP gets even a niggle...

WENGER YOU C U N T.

Bring back DB10 and Adams - the more the merrier. Chamaks can be traded in to NY red bulls and we'll keep Henry. :barscarf:

How can that be judged as a good game from Arshavin? It just goes to show our expectation levels have dropped when you can describe that as anywhere near good. He had EIGHT shots - ALL off target!

But Arshavin was still 20 times better than Mary Ann Chamakh.....and Park couldn't even get a game!! How bad does it make those two!
It's a disgrace that those two players are in Arsenals first team squad and proof that Wenger really doesn't have a clue, and has to rely on a legend to get Arsenal going because he is incapable of doing it himself.

Thats a bit harsh i think. So going by your argument, scholes going back to UTD is the same thing & that makes Ferguson a reclue as well?
Though, I agree the finishing was dire from the 3 biggest culprtis, Arsha, Chamak and Ramsey. But it will come (i hope)./

I thought Arshavin worked his socks off last night, though a lack of confidence in front of goal was obvious.

Got to agree. He put a shift in, but was woeful in front of goal.

Yeah Arshavin did well. I don't care if you're shit, as long as you run about and make an effort. We know he's got the quality, so him being erratic atm isn't worrying, its the fact he's done fuck all in a lot of games.
Henry tonight showed what a fool Wenger is
Not sure you got the irony of your statement Don.
