does anyone else feel
that their dislike of Wenger, their hatred of AFC PLC and all the ill feeeling both has generated has diminished the joy that used to come from a victory.
At two nil down i was resigned to the usual spineless defeat and at least it would put more pressure on the board to do something. The win feels like its just going to prolong the agony of a slow decline.
I suppose i should just F**k off down the road and support the chavs!

No, I want Wenger gone as much as anyone, but that has at no point meant I've enjoyed any Arsenal victory less.greengooner wrote:that their dislike of Wenger, their hatred of AFC PLC and all the ill feeeling both has generated has diminished the joy that used to come from a victory.

As I've said all along, the ideal situation is that Wenger turns it round, we win the FA Cup and the CL and finish fourth/third, but it's not gonna happen. I could never want Arsenal to lose though!

i do feel that the board have taken advantage of the loyalty he feels towards the club, whatever you think of his methods no one can deny what he has done for Arsenal but there is a lot of shit going on at boardroom level that we dont hear about. Sadly he has to go but iMetalheadz Gooner wrote:yeah feel the same! Still think Wenger is being hung out to dry and I do respect him still. But the club does needs a fresh start with a new manager/back room staff and transfer policy.
cant wait for the day he writes a book about it

What is sounds like is that you love yourself more than your club, you would rather not feel happy if it means you can't get your own way because you think what you want is more important then any Arsenal win.greengooner wrote:i never said i wanted them to lose but something about the win today justSWLGooner wrote:No, I want Wenger gone as much as anyone, but that has at no point meant I've enjoyed any Arsenal victory less.greengooner wrote:that their dislike of Wenger, their hatred of AFC PLC and all the ill feeeling both has generated has diminished the joy that used to come from a victory.

So sad, most hate Wenger now but there was genuine joy from the whole ground when that third goal went in.
I guess what I'm trying to say is get over yourself.

of course i love myself more than AFC, i love lots of things more than AFC, its a business entity not a fit blondeGunnersaurus wrote:What is sounds like is that you love yourself more than your club, you would rather not feel happy if it means you can't get your own way because you think what you want is more important then any Arsenal win.greengooner wrote:i never said i wanted them to lose but something about the win today justSWLGooner wrote:No, I want Wenger gone as much as anyone, but that has at no point meant I've enjoyed any Arsenal victory less.greengooner wrote:that their dislike of Wenger, their hatred of AFC PLC and all the ill feeeling both has generated has diminished the joy that used to come from a victory.

You clearly can't read as I don't post stuff that makes out things are rosey, when things go well I will say, when they are bad I will say.
You are just attention seeking to the clique trying to find acceptance because you think its fashionable to hate on the club because Wenger is incharge, its tragic, how can any so called Arsenal fan not enjoy a victory.
Ego? Na, you're cool....
I'm fully aware of the feeling on this board, you would have to be blind not to.

i just feel, even though it was a good comeback today - nothing has changed and unless Wenger goes and we get a new manager in with new ideas and his own players. we will be asking for Wengers head again in 2 or 3 weeks
i don't really believe any true gooner wants us to lose, but it's the only way we ever have of getting rid of Wenger
todays victory will keep him safe for another season - and i can't put up with this shite for another 12 months

I agree with SWL, I could never want Arsenal to lose
All I ever hope is that people still see the club for what it is i.e. a privately owned commercial property company, with a merchandising franchise and a football club bolted on the side. And I always hope that people see Wenger for what he is and some of the players for what they are. One victory shouldn't change that anymore than one defeat does.
For me the bigger picture is a club that treats its supporters appallingly and a manager who continues to dumb down the squad from 1st to 2nd to 3rd to 4th, and now seemingly a Europa league team with the odd cup run. Arsenal managers from years gone by got fired for the type of seasons we're growing used to, but luckily for Wenger 4th place is now rewarded financially with the CL spot
But when we win, I'm still like a big kid. It makes my weekend as much as it fucks it up when we lose.
Enjoy the wins, and never lose sight of the bigger picture

and by the way there is a difference between reading and understanding, a fact that you have managed to demonstrate very well, that thing you missed in my post was the point

oh yes, attention seeking says the poster in the bright green dinosaur outfit

chippy, i have to disagree with you, i think the point made in this thread is interesting. i celebrated a lot when we scored the third, but it was nowhere near what would've been 4 or 5 years ago if we came back from 2-0 on a cup game. if that was the case, i'd be out drinking right now, instead i decided to do some work since next week will be a bit tough. that is crazy!Chippy wrote:Have any of you paused to think what a total and utter waste of space and life and time this thread is?
i'll always support the arsenal and want us to beat everyone, but i have to admit that after 3 straight defeats with lots of questions asked to the manager, had we crashed out of the FA cup (only title we can win this season), wenger's time at the club would be truly over - and come on, that's what we all want! i know we never want arsenal to lose, but looking at the bigger picture, i still don't think we're winning anything this season and neither finishing top 4, so if we could add some more drama to it, like losing to an average villa side at home, maybe that's the nail in wenger's coffin, and therefore all the changes we've been so desperately calling for!
it's difficult to explain. when rvp's penalty went in, i jumped to celebrate, shouted for a few short seconds, then simply sat down again and started to think things over. i think i never celebrated such an important goal so mildly. i was glad, i was smiling, but something felt strange. we didn't win because suddenly we're a good team, we won because of two penalties and a freak goal. things will continue to be the same.
i must admit i'm feeling terrible for doing so, and i promise next match i'll watch with more beer in my head so that i can celebrate more and be less of a *word censored*

SING WHEN W'ERE LOSING
I'm very sure that despite pleas to the contrary that there are a lot of so called Arsenal fans on here that would see us lose so they can bleat "I told you so " for the 1,000th time or in the vain hope that it will hasten the Demise of Wenger or the board .
