Hang on a second - how about all the times they've left us fans demoralised? And unlike them, we haven't got the solace of a big fat wedge to smooth things and help us forget.

Anyway, augie is only proposing that fans give the players stick IF we fail to get the result we need and thus don't qualify for the CL. So this action would most likely happen at the end of the match, once we know the results, and shouldn't affect the performance. If heaven forbid at the end of 90 minutes the team have failed, then they'll deserve all the stick hopefully coming their way, and a lot, lot more besides.
