Cologne pre season friendly

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Had a great time in Cologne last year (love the Kolsh) but would like a new ground/city not been to b4. Wish they would hurry up and let us know tho. Need to book time off etc.
Think I may make the effort to do Saints pre-season, I can walk to ground via a few pubs.

The only thing impressive about Camp Nou is the initial "wow" factor when you first look out over the edge from the top tier. Other than that it looks like a car park, has no atmosphere and is full of *word censored*.

If we're talking about "superb football arenas", Westfalenstadion aka Signal Iduna Park is about as close to a perfect stadium as there is IMO...

I agree. Westfalenstadion is the best stadium I've ever been to and I'm not sure if that will change in the next few years. Great atmosphere, nice away section right behind the goal on the lower tier and the stadium in itself looked pretty impressive as well.

I also enjoyed Cologne last year, but I don't think I will be going again this summer. I will save my money for a nice Premier League or Champions League away game. :barscarf:

According to Marca the date for the Joan Gamper trophy will be Sunday August 12th, no confirmation that it will be against us though.

Flight prices are decent right now for that date, i bet by the time we get round to announcing it though they'll be through the roof :banghead:
