AST vs Gazidis

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

As opposed to last summer when he went for quantity rather than quality.

A bit harsh Quartz.
I personally considered Arteta and, to some extent Benayoun showed more commitment and class than several other regulars in the team.
And if you check many of my posts on here you will find that I have championed both of those players, before and after they signed for us.

But other signings were of little use including Santos (ok as left midfielder but awful as a left back), Park and Jenkinson.

Why do you think that snake Gazidis agrees to meet the AST?.If he knew he was going to be grilled he would never meet them.An annual PR stunt

Certainly do not expect you to trawl through mine or anyone else's archived posts.

But I took a lot of flack on here for backing Benayoun on transfer deadline night and but I think he worked out a good loan signing.

Did the AST bring their own Vaseline or was it provided by the club?

Club provided it disguised as a free drink.

No doubt it was loaded with Nembutal or Mogadon to quell any chance of raised voices from AST. :banghead:

Not quite sure what people expected from this meeting, but from what i can make out it just sounds like we are business looking for the next market to exploit. Not to invest in the team purely into the brand. I know this is modern day football but I'm convinced more than ever we won't be seriously competing in anything apart from the rich list.

I hope I'm proven wrong come the end of the transfer window but I won't get my hopes up, could be another long season for us I fear.

Still the season doesn't start til August so fuck em :barscarf:

Oh well, bottom line is, next season we are unlikely to be as lucky that other teams around us are so shite. Chelsea are buying, United and City will do too, so we will be caught yet again in a scrap for a CL place at best. It can't and won't go on because we will fail sooner rather than later if we don't strengthen with actual quality. The big problem is, it is going to take a disaster to make Wenger and the board sit up and take notice and by then it's too late.

The Q&A tonight was a complete waste of time, just an opportunity for Gazidis to say 'we care about our fans.....blah blah bollox'

My original questions to Ivan from AST/Red 'Action'/AISA

Love the intention IHH but ROTFPMSL at the bolded ones mentioned.

And just to be clear, I am not knocking these organizations. In fact, and especially in the cases of Red Action and the AST, I think they are wonderful institutions that help hold the club to account. I especially like the manner in which Kroenke clearly fears AST and Red Action is always mindfu to take their esteemed opinions into consideration.

I also respect the massive difference the AST have made to pressurizing the club into bettering our wage bill and pushing the club on with quality signings. It helped the club kill off wage bill wastrels like Nasri, Fabregas and Clichy last summer; and helped us add Santos, Park and Mertesacker to the wage bill instead.

Hopefully they can carry on holding Wenger and Gazidis to account, and give us the chance to get rid of sores like RVP and get in Kalou and Giroud. Oh and a new contract for Arsene.
