Controversial Arsenal views

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Controversial Arsenal views

Post by This Is The Daybreak »

Stolen from a S***s forum (do like to have a view to have a laugh from time to time) but thought it'd be interesting from an Arsenal perspective. Do you have any controversial views regarding Arsenal, players past and present, managerial staff etc, that you feel totally fly in the face of the opinion of the vast majority of Arsenal supporters.

My main one is:

I find Ian Wright really annoying. As much as I enjoyed watching him as a player and being a fine goalscorer for the goalscorer the club his comments all the time really wind me up. Remember after we sold Henry in 2007 saying in The Sun newspaper that 'My mate David Rocastle would be turning in his grave if he saw Arsenal in the state it was in now'. A bit too much don't you think, he seems to have to go to absolute extremes to get his point.

I also never ever rated Gilles Grimandi, as much as he is seen as a cult figure now days as he used to put himself about a bit I thought for his footballing ability he was one of the worst I've seen at the club.

I find BG's 't*t threads' tiresome and repetitive :D

I've said it! It's off my chest now!

PHEW!

I also dislike George Graham.

Great manager, legend etc... and I would never knock his record or ability to organise a team but he really rubs me up the wrong way (post leaving Arsenal) The bungs and Tottenham managing didn't help but to this day I don't really know what the root of my dislike came from...

Thought Graham bought into his own hype 1992+.

Thought Steve Morrow was well worthy of a squad place.

Thought Grimandi was poor as a defender but useful in central midfield.

I want Walcott to sign a new contract.

I would start Coquelin ahead of Song.

Probably not so contreversial in these parts but I think Le Space Bowl that we call our ground is now infested with irritating middle class 'oh rah rah' type Arsenal fans who need to fuck off and watch Le Cross or something.

I never rated Charlie Nicholas, I actually thought he was a bottle job and that's why he got injured so often.

Does Aliaksander Hleb count? Never grew any bollocks playing for Arsenal.

Somewhat agree about Wrighty in that I can't stand his telly career and ravings in the Sun but not enough to dislike the bloke as I absolutely idolised him as a player for us.

Erm, wenger out?

I've always believed that anelka was a better player than Henry - I know henry's career is twice that of le sulk but I still feel that if he had of had a better temperament then he would have been twice the player Henry was 8)
