thanks - yeah think that is what I was trying to remembergoonerwalker wrote:I think Yennaris had a good game against Man U at home last year. I think he was brought on after they tore apart Djorou in the first half so I suppose he was always going to look good compared to that useless c**thighburyJD wrote:Jenkinson's final game before injury last season (Bolton H?) he was very good
overlapped well, delivered lots of good crosses
I remember Yennaris having one very good game at RB but not who it was against
(one each isnt exactly brilliant)![]()
Still reckon Yennaris is the better defender than Jenkinson althogh Jenkinson does offer more going forward, but I would go for the better defender as McClean down the left could well be their biggest attacking threat

Re: Arsenal v Sunderland match thread
Am well pissed off that I can't go to this match now as I think there might be a protest of sorts inside the ground especially if things don't start well
How about this ditty to the tune of "he scores what he wants" -
They sell who they want
They sell who they want
Wenger and gazidas

Re: Arsenal v Sunderland match thread
the best protest would not be to attend at all.
I am very pleased I haven't bought any tickets and won't for the league at all this season.
why would anyone want to pay a minimum of £70 to see Van Persie in a United shirt this season by the way!

Not attending at all. I guess that's the perfect way to get behind the team....Red Member wrote:the best protest would not be to attend at all.

We should get 100% behind the players. The situation we find ourselves has not been caused by them at all. I reckon any protesets would be better off taking place on a seperate day or before or after the match. This would help ensure that fans do get behind the team for the 90 minutes they are on the pitch. The last thing we want to do is re-create the Blackburn situation...

Agree with GoonerWalker. Let's not turn ourselves into a Blackburn! The players that are there aren't to blame and we should get behind them, particularly our new signings. If people like Giroud and Podolski hit the ground running we could do alright. I think Carzola will be very good for us.

Re: Arsenal v Sunderland match thread
the thing is you are supporting these players now but if any of them turn out to be any good then they will be sold.
as long as mugs keep buying tickets then Kroenke can and will do what he wants.
there is no ambition to WIN anything any more. Success is costly. Once you start winning you have to continue to invest.
Kroenke does not want to do that, he just wants to generate profits. He and Wenger are the perfect match. The football is merely a largely irrelevant side show now.

Only just catching up on the international news from last night, I see Cazorla played and scored in Puerto Rico. Chances of him being on the bench on Saturday due to being tired from travelling?
Re: Arsenal v Sunderland match thread
I see Sunderland have signed Saha, just in time to score his obligatory goal against us on Saturday.
Re: Arsenal v Sunderland match thread
Yeah, he should be fit for Saturday apparently. Just glad to have got a forward in, he'll end up being a squad player once we finally get Fletcher in but at least he has experience and is better than the other 3 strikers we've got at the club currently. Hope he hits the ground running against your lot but I can't say I'm all that much more optimistic now!goonersid wrote:I see Sunderland have signed Saha, just in time to score his obligatory goal against us on Saturday.

Walcott and Cazorla to be "assessed".
