Players behaviour after the Stoke match!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

If Tesco keep selling you vacuum-packed excrement, and dress it up as fillet mignon, and you happily pay them more and more each year to eah shite, don't be surprised if the Tesco fat cats laugh at you mockingly....

So your having a go at people who went up to support on Sunday?
Like DB10 said above, its the club that means more than anything - not so much the indivduals - are you suggesting we dont support them anymore? If not, what are you suggesting?

Walcott i think is out the door - might explain his reaction - he has no interest - pulled out of every 50/50 on Sunday and has the look of a man on his todd - im f**cking delighted!!!
As for the players, its modern football im afraid - i think Arsenal do do a lot for the fans, more than other clubs....but manners cost nothing eh? Anyone who goes up to Stoke (and has to suffer the necessary injections) deserves credit - from fans and players alike?

Interesting to hear what happened from someone there, this is the first I've heard of it.

I'm afraid it's an all too familiar story to my experiences of following the team home and away. It sounds sad, but I watched the game on the South Coast in the middle of a weekend away with my girlfriend, yeh it's annoying that we drew, but it's a hell of a lot easier knowing you haven't wasted all the money supporting blokes who ultimitely don't care about you. Too many times I've clapped the team in Middlesborough/Sunderland/Stoke/Wherever and had nothing really in return.

Fair play to the few players that actually showed thier appreciation.

Who is 'having a go'? A tad sensitive dontcha think? What do I suggest?
I suggest that 'supporting' your club becomes harmful to a point when said club begins taking the mickey out of you.
Not paying insane money to watch mediocrity does not make you less of a 'fan', it makes you economically sensible.
Of course fans who travel far and wide should be admired for perseverance but then again: like I said, if you knowingly hand over Tesco £70 for what you know to be a bag of shite, don't write a letter of complaint that your food stank; because you knew what you were getting when you paid.

It's funny because ppl often defend Arsenal's disgusting corporate model by claiming 'football is a business'.

Ok I can accept that.
Therefore, as a business, any given 'consumer' has a duty to exercise their statutory rights and if this means that the product on offer is not in keeping with the vageries of the market, that consumer has every right to cease their custom and use that cash allocation where better spent.

If 'football is a business', then don't expect anything approaching sympathy or emotional recognition from corporate egotists money-grabbing mercenaries like Wenger, Walcott et al.

If AW had simply said thanks for your support today to the 20 or so of us standing by the train I would at least have felt our support was being acknowledged. What am I travelling up to Liverpool next weekend for? Why am I spending a grand on a season ticket? I have never felt so out of touch with the club I've supported for 20 years.
at least you have worked it out now.
feel sorry for those that haven't.

Quite happy to hear Walcott blanked you and looked glum, that is a big sign that he's off.

Good news.

I agree with your points, im just saying - calling people "Gormeless" for supporting the team up in Stoke (the home of the imbecile) is a tad harsh!

All these people crying on twitter because we have sold and might be selling Walcott and Song needs to have a long hard look at themselves (Yes Mickey, I'm talking about you) they are shit and not good enough, you've probably slated them on here many times over the last few years so why the sudden upset????

I still think Arsenal tickets are not expensive enough.

lets face it there is still a waiting list for season tickets.
How far do you reckon Kroenke will push it next season? I think £2,000 should be the standard price for all season tickets and no league game to cost under £50. Top seats £200. That should do the job. :D

and no this is not a WUM because I know and you know that this will happen sooner rather than later. You only have to look back at how ticket prices have risen to see that.

What annoyed me the most was that there was an old bloke with his two grandchildren who held out their programmes to be signed and not one player came near them. The bloke said to me that it was the final straw and he struggled to explain to the kids why they were blanked what a great image the players set to future fans. Even a Stoke fan who observed said how out of touch our club was. When I agree with a bloody Stoke fan no matter how much it pains me, I know the Club is fucked. Where has our Arsenal gone?

I waited outside highbury every Saturday for months and never once saw an arsenal player, but then I realised we moved grounds

Good news.
Do you look forward to replacing Walcott with Gervinho? Because that's what'll happen. Dream on if yuo think AW will give 'the Ox' a chance.

Fans seemed to be glad Alex Song was gone - and whilst I think Song is rubbish also, who has he been replaced with?
Diaby. Nuff said.

Fans also seemed desperate to see the back of Clichy. He was 'a liability'.
Who has he been replaced with? Fat Santos.

Nasri was apparently a 'one season wonder' bla bla. 'better off without'.
WHo did we get to play on the wing instead?
Gervinho. :banghead:

RVP was nothing but a mercenary etc.
WHo has he been replaced with?
GIROUD

Is the message becoming clearer? That cash will be banked and Arsenal will have even fewer options. Just like Song: Walcott is crap but the alternative doesn't bear thinking about.

I actually agree with Red here

I think it would be a fasicnating social experiment in Cultism if Kroenke pushed ST prices up to £2,500k.
I wonder how many people would continue to pay it. When I first heard that Arsenal STs were going to be over a grand for the first time, I never believed people would buy into that, no way will they sell I thought....yet they did.
Kroenke can push this bitch as far as he likes, it seems there is no tipping point with Arsenal fans anymore?

I'd be genuinely interested to see what Arsenal fans would do if:

a. Wenger sold our entire first 11 for a profit of £90 mil (they're worth no more than that) and replaced them with an entire group of street children he found kicking a ball in some French suberb near Paris.

b. Kroenke pushed ST prices up to £2k.

Swear to God, people would still pay, and would still justify it in many cases.
It would be interesting o see....
