I do laugh when I read things like how wenger "identified him as a potential signing several years ago" - what the fcuk was he doing since then as dzeko changed clubs twice or three times in the meantime For some reason wenger identifying good players as possible signings before they made it big is seen as some sort of badge of honour - suppose for a man the regards 4th place as better than a trophy then this must be classed as good as a trophy

Liverpool have already used the same method to sign Dempsey twice this summer! If we were seriously interested then Newcastle are the one club more willing to sell their best players than we are, but they would demand too much money I reckon.

In other news, word doing the round is that AVB has transfer-listed Lennon, Parker and VdV. Personally I don't believe it.

I can understand VdV particularly if Dembele is coming in, and I guess Parker just doesn't fit in with his plans and is getting on and struggling more than ever with injuries, although I still reckon he could do a job for a good PL outfit. Lennon is a strange one for me though. I think he gets too many unfair comparisons with Walcott, and although he can also lack end product to be fair he is a lot more direct, runs at defenders and can cross, he'll do okay wherever he is if he can stay fit. One of those players who is never going to be a key player at a top team but would be a useful asset in any squad.
