It was spectacular.
Beverly Knight was very good, puts so many of these reality show winners to shame.

@ chippy. Get the uniform dry cleaned and framed. One day it will be quite valuable.
Well done to all of the volunteers. Stratford has been quite a pleasurable experience to travel to and from during the games.
@ Quartz. Beverley Knight sounded great and she looked as good as ever. I went up to the attic and flicked the tv on for her performance. I watched the fireworks through the window. They started midway through her performance. They were quite breathtaking. Tv did not do the display justice. My heart was pounding with pride.
Now c'mon team GB.

Just watched some swimming, amazing how some no use of their legs yet generate so much power! Likewise one Chinese swimmer had no arms and wasn't too far behind! Remarkable stuff, looking forward to seeing some games I've never even heard of!
The paralympics started a stones throw from wear I used to live, probably the best thing to ever come out of Aylesbury!

Nice one Mutley. I hope that the weather holds out for you as it did for the ceremony.
If you get any good pic's, try to upload them please mate. (the athletics, not your family)
Cheers.

No Jackanory,,,,,,this is Storey.
Sarah Storey won Great Britain's first gold medal of the XIV Paralympics with a supreme victory in the women's C5 three-kilometres individual pursuit at the London 2012 velodrome.
Asked what she was thinking as she chased down her opponent, she said: 'Just, "gotta get there quick, quick, quick!"
'I was like, "It's not gonna be this lap, maybe the next lap..."
'You're just willing the rider to come to you as quick as possible so you can just finish.'
Storey won the race at half distance. Lapped her opponent.

DB10 was frapping at the idea of 'hit me with your rhythm stick', I tell ya. Disappointed though.

Brilliant day outDid you see the South African Oscar Pistoffous get beat in the 200m then start bitching and moaning that the other guy had an unfair advantage as his plastic legs were longer
Talk about being a bad loser
