nottheonlinegooner
Stumbled across this. Can anyone shed any light on it and the accusations made? Is it really the case that The Gooner does not citicise Kroenke and Gazadis? I would've thought the premier Arsenal Fanzine would be at the forefront at reporting what fans are thinking.
Kevin was kind enough to do a Q&A with the BSM to put some untruths right (in fact it may be time for an update as things have moved on since then) so don't understand why there would be no criticism unless of course that's not the case.

My suggestion to the blogger would be to take up the offer of writing a piece and then publish the original copy if heavily censored to lose the gist of the piece for others to see.
Anyway, just finished reading "The Making of a Super Club" and can recommend it. The complexities of football finance explained simply.

Reg RolyPoly off of here has got a bee in his bonnet about Gazidis and for some reason has taken it that gooner ed and Mike Francis are protecting him. He kept making statements (and still does via this blog and the afc forum) which was intended to provoke reactions from them. Now i dont want to put words in their mouths but as far as im aware there is no effort to hush critisism of anyone at Arsenal and from what i read they even said he could post an article in the fanzine which he turned down. He is on some sort of crusade and the woe is me act was always silly its getting even worse now

Re: nottheonlinegooner
I was aware of rolypoly's latest attempt to discredit Kevin and myself and The Gooner via his own blog which is of course his perogative. He's a very competent lawyer so knows how to spin a story to suit and he'd probably tie me up in knots if I chose to try to debate the point with him, which is why I've said I won't.
He used to post on here occasionally and many felt that he was a wind-up merchant who only posted things to get a reaction. I have to say that I didn't always feel that was the case, but that combined with his criticism of Kev and I prompted me to ban him from the forum, not because I don't believe in free speech as he'd have you think, but because I didn't see why I should be the one paying to give him a platform for his negative views about me and the fanzine which I have put a lot of effort into over the last 25 years.
However, I'd have been only too happy for him to contribute a piece outlining his views regarding Gazidis for publication on the website or in the fanzine because (a) he had some excellent points, many of which I agreed with but wouldn't have been able to articulate as well as rolypoly and (b) because it doesn't really matter what I believe, The Gooner exists as a forum for all Arsenal fans to share their views about the club and how it's run.
I think if you look back over the last few years, you'll find there's plenty of articles which criticise everyone at the club from the owner to caterers, including all those in between and we are regularly criticised for being too negative, so in some ways I'm quite pleased when we're told we're not being criticial enough as I think it's important to strike a balance.
I only write for the fanzine occasionally thesedays which is partly due to a lack of time and partly because there are better and more knowledgeable writers among our contributors. However, my own (probably uninformed) view on Gazidis is that he's stuck between a rock and a hard place in that Wenger runs the club and Kroenke is happy for him to do so, so has probably told Gazidis not to interfere. That's not to say Gazidis couldn't do better and he certainly doesn't justify his salary package, which was revealed to be £2.1m in the latest accounts, although I'll concede that I've no idea what the going rate is for CEOs thesedays.
People will make up their own mind about The Gooner regardless of what I say. I'd like to think that our record over the last two and half decades speaks for itself.
