It's not a piece of piss this lark. I had a few rants at the week end, but didn't take to smoking.
I have been out for lots of fresh air and a few walks . I am scoffing all the time and have put on 3lbs in the last week.
Breathing in easier, and there is no congestion of sign of a phlemmy cough.
I could smell smoke on every shirt that was in my wardrobe, so got them washed again. I didn't realize that the smell affects almost everything, even the cat !!
I have made a good start and I shall remain determined to stay off them. My dad gave them up, cold turkey style. That was several years before his death of cancer. So it is inspiring me, yet I feel a bit wussy for using the patches and having the inhalator.

Anyway, c'mon you others', stay with it and, thanks chaps for the support.

I did it "cold turkey" back in '94 I think it was. Don't feel a wuss for using patches etc. Take all the help you can get. Remember its your life you're talking about here.

The cat didn't really take a battering, I missed booting it by inches.
I am not sure whether a 'pussy' could ever smell as bad as an ashtray though. DB10 might be able to shed some light on that for you though.

Btw, I forgot to add that the clinic nurse takes a reading of your breathing capacity at the outset. It read 27 on the first day, and on day eight the reading was down to FOUR. She, (Renata, drooooooooool) says that it is the same reading as a non smoker.

Bloody excellent stuff. Just short of two weeks and such vast improvement.

For anyone else giving it up and not vain enough to have a 'Bridget blog' then I have some advice for you.
I have found that if I apply the patch of a morning then by the time I go to bed it still works but the supply of nicotine is far less and thus, the nightmares and insomnia are lessened.
