RESPECT.. Let's kick racism out of football

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

RESPECT.. Let's kick racism out of football

Post by Top Londoner »

Pfffftttt. What a load of bollocks.

It, (racism) will get approval every time. Especially when w4nkers like Cap'n Terry get away with it.

Respect my arse. Lip service to a surrepticious activity does nobody any good.

I fuckin' despise anyone that is that way inclined.

Whenever leaders like Terry *word censored* are defended I despair, as those types are made out to be good blokes who do loads for charity, and love their mum's.

RACISM STOPS HERE, NOW.

If you are witness to it, then stand up and defend your opinions,,,,,,,, you will be surprised at how many people will support you.

I know its hard mate but dont give in.
Stay off the ciggies. I believe in you. You CAN do it.

Go out for a walk or something and the craving will go away.

it's more likely a brazilian corrupt politician going to jail than the ex-captain of england getting a (deserved) long term punishment

Looks like the "Kick it out" campaign is a bit finished after the reaction of players to the John Terry punishment..........

I dislike rio ferdinand hugely but imo he was fcuking totally right to boycott the campaign - for me you either believe in something or you dont and I feel that the laughable punishments handed out to the chav b*****d captain and the fines handed out to various clubs and nations by uefa in recent seasons suggests that they are only paying lip service to this problem

Lip service, nothing nore.

The FA/Premier League/PFA/LMA look after their own interests and that's about it. If Chelsea (for example) really cared then they would have stripped Terry of the Captaincy (at least) or sacked him.

Same for Liverpool & Suarez but clubs don't give two shits because they're all chasing the money/prestige and these incidents will be forgotten when the next scandal breaks.

Agreed, hate him but fair play for being his own man and not toeing the party line.

Rio's a twat and deserves the shit that Ferguson is going to throw at him. How would Rio have reacted on twatter had a white player refused to wear the shirt?

Just wait to see what pathetic punishment ends up getting dished out to multiple offenders Serbia by UEFA.

Anyone actually think those Eurocrat jokers will dish out anything more than a meaningless fine and the hollow threat of a suspended punishment for future offences ?

I agree that everyone needs to take a stand individually but when the administrators of the game are negligent it doesn't half make the job harder

I agree with you mutley . Look we all know players like Terry and Suarez have half a brain and our feckin clueless but surely now is the time to draw the line under this and move on .

I think people like Clarke Carlisle and Jason Roberts might well make the whole thing rise up again on the terraces . I cannot remember the last racist chants at Arsenal and whilst some clubs might have a problem (Millwall) .I think the majority don't .

If you look at both cases Suarez used a term rightly or wrongly which is used in Uruguay. Terry said something that was racist but as much as I hate him I doubt he is a racist through and through as we can all say things in the heat of the moment. (and tell me that none of you have said something somewhere in the heat of the moment which was wrong and I don't mean racist).

Things have improved greatly over the last 30 years which makes our stadiums a better place , so let's kick it out and continue to.

I fully support the campaign and all efforts to rid football and the world of the evil of intolerance and racism. But at what point does wearing "the t-shirt" stop being a campaign and start being tokenism.?
