THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Someone else just posted that this is now our worst first 10 PL games since 1994. Difference back then was that we treated cups seriously.
People blindly swallow what Wenger feeds them about us not being able to compete and basically how 3rd is an overachievement and it's all bollocks. If you fundamentally ask why we are not expected to win the league (or seriously challenge) then you have to realise it's because Wenger has presided over a continued demise at the club. Nobody else, him. So why the fuck should he get commended for reducing us to a team capable of achieving CL qualification at best when he's the reason we're not doing better?

Finding it increasingly difficult to recognise the club I love under this stubborn old goat's stewardship.

The dwellers beat Utd on their own patch (for the first time since 1782 I know) but yet again we are happy to roll over with smiles and handshakes all round.

Pathetic.

What is there left to say about him, his selections, transfers and tactics that hasn't been said a million times before. Nothing will ever change until he has left, regardless of the financial policies of the club because even a pub-league manager wouldn't keep making the same mistakes year after year. He has just become so boring now from his interviews, transfers and style of play.

in the meantime we just have to keep enduring his bullshit, laugh when we lose and remain unmoved when we win

I think I'd feel slightly happier if we were being linked with Steve Kean as our new manager rather than carrying on with the Self Harmer.

I see Juventus are on a 49 game unbeaten league run, having won the title last season without losing a game. Sound familiar? Well they have also moved into the new stadium.

The big difference to us (which is pretty significant) is they did what they did AFTER moving and not before! No years of decline. No excuses for failure.

How is this possible without miracle man Wenger at the helm? Surely he is the only man in world football capable of keeping a team at the top after moving stadiums? At least that’s what we’re told.

The proof apparently is that all other teams that built new stadiums have struggled so much that they were relegated. Even Wenger himself pointed this out. The only thing he forgot to mention was that these teams, Leicester, Derby and Middlesboro’ were teams that were relegated on a fairly regular basis long before they built new grounds.

Its almost as if this stadium excuse is total bollocks isn’t it?

But lets not let facts get in the way of defending Wenger. He is a genius and has worked miracles. With his hands tied don’t forget.

Juventus' new stadium cost around £100 million to build, although it is by far smaller capacity.

I've reached a low point today. I now hate Wenger more than I love Arsenal :(
