Re: Wenger Out Or Capital One Cup
Wenger winning the league cup will not impact either way on the length of his stay. He is here for the long run whilst he continues to "achieve" that magical 4th spot "trophy".

Funny how much the results of this poll has changed since yesterday

Re: Wenger Out Or Capital One Cup
why are people saying one wont ever lead to the other, thats not the point. the whole point of the thread is theoretical, if you had that choice. at no stage do i think it says this could happen in reality.
its just gauging peoples desperation for a trophy vs their want of the manager gone

We won't get 4th this time, I have no doubt whatsoever on that. Winning the league cup would be used by both by the club and Wenger's disciples to distract attention from that.DB10GOONER wrote:Wenger winning the league cup will not impact either way on the length of his stay. We would get the "we are financially capable of withstanding one season without clge" bullshit from the club and be told by his disciples that "we wanted a trophy now we've got one" and told to stop complaining and have patience.
Only failure on every front will have the desired impact.
Re: Wenger Out Or Capital One Cup
I don't see why not. It's between us and Sp*rs (and possibly Everton and Liverpool) for 4th, so it's hardly unachievable.goonersid wrote: We won't get 4th this time, I have no doubt whatsoever on that.
We've had the worst start to a season in 18 years apparently, and yet we're only 2pts behind Sp*rs and Everton, for a top 4 place.
All these teams are dropping points, and are all as bad as each other at times, so I'm surprised you're so sure we won't finish 4th. It looks very possible to me.

Have to agree. It's as "achievable" as any other season given the lack of true quality of the teams competing for it. The only condition I would add is we either need Giroud to hit form in a major way or sign a proven PL striker in January. I personally think we'll finish 5th this year but I fully accept we could finish 4th instead...g88ner wrote:I don't see why not. I want to win the cup this year and have the twat leave at the end of the season on a ''high'' due to winning something.
Alas, we won't win it though because Chelsea are still in it and we'll probably lose to Bradford.

We won't lose to Bradford. Bradford survived by the skin of their teeth against a poor Wigan side.Arsenal Till I Die wrote: Alas, we won't win it though because Chelsea are still in it and we'll probably lose to Bradford.

How did we do against that poor Wigan side last time out?SWLGooner wrote:We won't lose to Bradford. Bradford survived by the skin of their teeth against a poor Wigan side.Arsenal Till I Die wrote: Alas, we won't win it though because Chelsea are still in it and we'll probably lose to Bradford.
Goal machine Franco di Santo was made to look like Henry if my memory serves me right

I'm close to putting big money on us to finish exactly 4th. Nowhere near good enough for top 3.
Below that Spurs are poor, lost to Wigan at home again at the weekend.
Everton and Newcastle dont have the squad to last. I suspect one of them will do a "Villa" and push us close then fade away.
