Superbowl Parties

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

Superbowl Parties

Post by richpye »

Ok, not certain we can get tickets for Superbash, but was wondering what other Superbowl events people have been to in London?

Planning on coming down for one next year, so any recommendations (inc what is normally put on) would be greatly appreciated

Once ended up at one of these in Dublin and have to be honest here, watching Oirish people go all Yank and start high fiving and yelling out "Hoo-rah!" and "You the man!" was possibly the singularly most embarrassing cringeworthy thing I've ever seen. Especially as most of them hadn't a fucking scooby what was happening during the game itself...

Surely only copious amounts of alcohol is what's needed to make a 9 hour game with 20 minutes of actual play tolerable? Oh look somehting's about to happen!!!! Scrap that it's just another ad break.

Oh come on Rodders! 9 hours?! Don't exagerate. It's no more than 5 or 6 hours. With 35 minutes play!

Statsball (as I like to call it) parties were a bit popular in Dublin (or Dubling as our Engerlish comrades pronounce it! ) during the late 90's and early 2000's (when we all had more fucking money than sense) but I only attended the one and was so bored and embarrassed by it all that I really tried to get pissed. But they were only serving Budsheizer and Coors Lite!  :|

Must have drank 350 bottles of the stuff.

I like American Football but the thought of being at a party full of people in over sized shirts pretending to be an american is enough to make me ill :|

I watch the superbowl at home with a big bag of pretzels and flicking to the adult channel now and again

Is that what she called them?

"Off to bed now Bourney, I'm having some people round to show them all the things you can fit into my little box!"

:barscarf:
