Peter Hill-Wood taken ill

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

On the plus side it means the club were obviously very conscious of the BSM march, so much so that they delayed announcing this until Sunday. Even if you can't celebrate giving PHW as winning the war then at least you can celebrate the delayed statement as a battle victory.

Dein as Chairman, now is the time. He has strong connections with Everton and I think he could help in getting Moyes for us.

We don't need help in getting Moyes. Just like Arteta he'd jump at the chance to be at a club like us, especially with the resources at our disposal. And Kenwright knows the price of everything.

Have a huge amount of respect for Dein but wouldn't want him involved again until Wenger is gone.

northbank123, just to clarify for future discussions, you are pro the idea of Moyes as a Wenger replacement?

Personally not massively mate. Fair play for what he's done at Everton, but for me I'm not sure he'll be tactically versatile enough for the CL, Everton have always struck me as bottlers when it comes to the crunch too. Also not sure it'd be fantastic football to watch although this isn't that high on my priority list atm. I don't think it's really important to have someone who can manage on a budget because £140m+ a year on wages isn't shoestring!

But he will get us to defend properly and won't stand for any of the bollocks that is now commonplace at our club, and I think he'd definitely restore some old-fashioned pride. I wouldn't be disappointed if we appointed him, I just think we could probably do better. Either way it'd be a huge improvement on Wenger.

This. I would take Moyes and have us grind out 1-0's Fergie-style any day of the week.

To be honest depends on the position we're in when we're looking. Presuming that Wenger won't go until we are really in the shit then there's no way Pep would want to come, and why would Klopp want to leave Dortmund to come to us? We're polar opposites. Might well be Moyes is the best available at the time.

By all means take the piss out of me, I'm used to it. But seriously think about what this might look like to others pointed at the website to see what the wob army are like. For all we know the bloke might be on his death bed.

Apparently not....

yeah let's be respectful, PHW was obviously feeling very jaded before this happened......I hear it's endemic at our club.

His Chairmanship is for life and he really doesn't do much anymore,im sure his heart attack has been brought on by his lifestyle issues rather than work .
I am still bitter about him selling his birthright for a pittance to the greedy shysters dein and fizbang but I guess I should move on as it won't help.

Get well soon Hillwood and retire its not worth the stress at the moment for you. As a reply to a few posts above I think Moyes is the obvious replacement for Wenger and he deserves a chance.
If it does not work out we will not have lost anything anyway because the club is going nowhere

Yeah right Kroenke is going to bring Dein in as chairman when Dein sold his shares to Usmanov his rival  Dein could work with Usmanov but Kroenke no way

He's an embarrassing doddery old arsehole but I genuinely hope he will pull through. At the end of the day he is someone's brother, son, father, friend. Death ain't funny, kiddies. :|

Herd

Before Dein came along we were in a slump, both on and off the pitch.
