Away games for the U.S. newbie

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

Away games for the U.S. newbie

Post by dPmunky »

So I'm looking at the Arsenal fixtures and think we may be able to do Southhampton (Away) as well as the two fixtures we're going to during Christmas week.

How do away tickets work? I've went ahead and requested some here but is there not a way for red members like me to get them from the club? I was hoping to get tix and travel through them but apparently there is some points scheme and some other such nonsense....can anyone explain this to me? I'd really like to get to that match if possible.

Thanks again boys

Away tickets are provided on a credit basis and the ones down south tend to sell out before they get to red members more often than not. the southampton game sold out to season ticket holders which means it didn't even get down to silver let alone red.

best bet is to hang tight on here basically. as it's new years day there will probably not be many spares about, but see how shit we are between now and then

just to clarify the order for away games is

Travel Club members ( old away scheme that is like an away season ticket, they dont accept members any more)
Platinum/Gold season ticket holders
Silver
Red
general sale

within that for P/G they will open tickets to members with 25+ credits (credits are 1 per game and stay on your ticket for 2 seasons then drop off), then 20+, then 15 etc. once the 0 credits P/g passes they open to silver, then red.

You on twitter? Follow @arsenal_tickets. They retweet messages from fans who are selling on their tickets as they can no longer make it, all at face value. You can usually pick up tickets for pretty much every game via this service in the few weeks leading up to the game.

Oh and don't bother travelling with the official coach ;) Maybe it's a little cheaper but it's awful on there. Full of old people, no atmosphere, no alcohol & it takes fucking forever. Get the train instead, Southampton is about 75 minutes out of London Waterloo.

Good advice, Thanks!

We're all about proper atmosphere, the closest thing we have to drinking and singing here is when the Seattle Sounders are in town(and by "in town" i mean dallas which is a 5 hour drive), their supporters are top notch! :barscarf:
