Christmas spirit

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

Christmas spirit

Post by Rugby Gooner »

It's that time of year, and I thought that I would canvas the forums prefered tipples,ie: those that they enjoy, and would recommend.
For me,apart from Lager,I love a single malt, and one in particular is Jura, lovely taste, and pretty reasonable price wise.
Does anyone else have a tipple that they would like to "share" with the forum?

Jura is nice, but I see it as a bit bland.

Prefer Talisker, great mix of smokey and smooth.

But honorable shoutouts to these very good alternatives

Lagavulin (Peatey)

Glenfiddich (All rounder)

Glenmorangie (Smooth)

Laphroaig (Smokey)

I'm quite partial to a drop of Cognac. Tried hard to get into whisky but unfortunately taste buds not quite matured yet. Got my eye on a bottle of Absinthe that's been in my parents' cupboard for a while.

Well it is Bud or Guinness but like the Royale Family you can't beat a pint of snowball with lots of vodka in it ( the alcoholic drink obviously not the other thing with the same name lol )!

The christmas cupboard is stocked with budweiser, koppaberg mixed fruit, jack daniels, captain morgan's spiced rum and a couple of bottles of mulled wine ( not all to be drank on the same day I might add)

Quality choices Quartz,particularly Talisker,and Lagavulin!!!
The Landlord, and mate,(even if he is a "Yanited" fan),of a quality hostelry on the outskirts of Rugby,(called,"The St. Thomas's Cross),gave me me a lovely etched Talisker Whisky glass! Laphroiag is also a lovely example of the craft!!!
