Olivier Giroud - Another Alan Smith or "Le Chapman"?

He's scored 8 league goals......7 of which have come against teams in the bottom half. I'm not sure that's very impressive. He has missed some absolute sitters in big games at Anfield, in the last minute at home to the Chavs and when we were 0-0 at their place

As I said earlier we'll see how he fares when we play Bayern Munich and Manchester United

He looks like a flat track bully to me - happy to stick it to the likes of West Ham and anonymous when we play a big club when we need a lone striker to really work hard, stand up the physical challenge and be clinical in front of goal

11 goals and 8 assists ain't bad when you consider how many he has missed and how much he's been dicked about with re starting and getting any sort of rhythm.

He will get to 20 and that ain't too shabby.

I think we all know who is costing us the chance to go further and its not Giroud.

I agree its not Girouds fault that we play 1 up front, with the same system every single game, players out of position, overpaid shite on the bench etc etc but Giroud is a symptom of our problems.

He's mediocre and only seems to turn up when he feels like it ie when we're playing average teams. like I say hes not the cause of all our woes but he is the sort of player that if we had any ambition at all we would not have touched with a bargepole, we would have recruited a top quality front man ie the likes of Cavani.

Je suis Le Giroud. Le Giroud de Montpelier ou, on peut dire, Le Nouveau Chap-homme.
Vive la difference.

This is a dialogue of the deaf. You have entrenched positions and are never going to change. And frankly for the rest of us it is horribly dull. Any chance we can just leave it?

Wonder how many other threads we can use this on.....?

Wenger
BFG
Diaby
Ramsey

:rubchin: Lets shut em all down.

Giroud, you’re really bad.
Take a through ball, past that defender.
Remember, when he gives you a head start
Then you can start, to finish better.

Giroud, now I’m afraid
You were made to, make us much better
The minute you let it bounce off your shin,
Then we all think, Chapman was better

And anytime you feel like playin’, Giroud refrain,
Don’t carry that hod, upon your shoulders.
For well you know you looked a fool, at Liver-pool
By making Chamakh, look that much bolder

Giroud, don’t take us down.
You have found Per, can finish better
Remember we loaned out our Ju-Young Park,
But you’re shit start, makes him look better.

We’ve left you out then put you in, Giroud, begin,
You wait for the League Cup to perform in.
And don't you know that in League Two, Giroud, you'll do,
The movement you show’s of one much older

Giroud, don't take it bad.
Cos we sold Song to pay you better.
Remember when we are fifteen months in,
Then you'll begin “to adapt”
Better better better better better better, oh.

Na na na na na ,na na na, Giroud
Yep, I still think most of this applies.....

Two sweaty goals against a woeful West Ham side mean nothing. When he comes up against a half-decent back four he is neutralized to the point of only being able to provide 'a useful flick-on' per match.

That West Ham back four were probably of the same quality as the ones he is used to in the dire French league, but we will not be seeing a back four that awful every week..

Look, what do you want me to say? We know Jack is getting better and better each game, there's no point in me regurgitating old cliche comments.
"OH ISN'T JACK WILSHERE GOOD YOU GUYS"
"JACK WILL NEVER LEAVE US FOR UNITED! HE'S A TRUE GOONER!"
"GIROUD IS SO SLOW!"
There, will you stop calling me a WUM now?

As I said, I want us to miss out on Top 4 so Wenger will be forced to leave, but at the same time, I want Jack and the Ox to develop as much as possible, they are the ones I am holding out for, the ones that justify me watching the match in the first place.
